⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Where have you been hiding these ribs?!
The Food: A Masterclass in BBQ

Danish Ribs: Absolute perfection. They fall right off the bone with a caramelized, tangy BBQ sauce that is mouth-watering but not spicy. I initially wondered if “Imported from Denmark” was a gimmick—it’s not. These are easily the second-best ribs I’ve ever had in the world (sorry, OK somewhere else in NC still holds #1, but it’s a close race!).

String Fries: Salty, crispy, and so flavorful they don’t even need ketchup.

Peanut Ginger Slaw: Fresh, zesty, and a total palate cleanser.

Key Lime Pie: A total “stick the landing” dessert. The lime zest is spot on and the graham cracker crust is fresh, crunchy, and earthy. The whipped cream was smooth and plentiful, though a touch more sweetness/vanilla would’ve made it legendary. Still, a 10/10 finish.

The Experience

Service: This place was hopping and chaotic, but the staff never missed a beat. Incredible hustle.

Atmosphere: As soon as you smell that hickory smoker pit, you know you’re in the right place. It’s classy enough for a date night but relaxed enough for a night out with friends.

Bottom Line: Worth every minute of the wait. Check out the video to see that meat fall off that bone!

First time here although I lived in Charlotte for many years I can’t say enough about the food and service. Celebrated New Years Eve here early in the day and couldn’t have made a better choice. Food was amazing as well as the drinks served. Must try the cornbread and crab cakes. Broccoli was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this place and plan on visiting again. The staff there couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, they were definitely a 10/10 on New Years Eve.

Just excellent service and attention to detail. Apps and dinner were so good. First time there for me. I would gladly come back anytime. 5/5 all day long. Fish was Red Bone and had it blackened. Asparagus with a crab meat sauce was the cherry on top. Key lime pie was outstanding and was able to split it easily for two people.

Visited the South Park location for my sister’s birthday! We had a very good experience. For appetizers we tried the deviled eggs, spinach dip and chips and salsa. For dinner ribs, crab cakes, and salmon…all the food was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.

131 has always been one of my favorite restaurants and I hope everyone else enjoys the same experience.

Our server was very professional and personable. We did wait about 20 minutes past reservation time but the chef came out and apologized along with taking care of our apps. Great recovery. Food was delish and the atmosphere was classy and cozy. Will be back!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We had the most spectacular experience tonight! We ordered the wedge salad to spilt, the Salmon entree and a feature consisting of a ribeye and a crab cake! The flavors surpassed our expectations and every bite we were looking at each other like “what?!” Compliments to the chef and to our server, Peter. Trust us, GO AND ASK FOR PETER!

We will be back and we’ll be dreaming about our meal till then!

We tried 131 Main tonight after seeing the great reviews on Resy. Let me tell you this restaurant did not disappoint! We were greeted by many wonderful staff members and we were lucky enough to have Cynthia wait on us (request her you won’t regret it.) They do not have a freezer so everything is made from scratch and fish is flown on day of and other entrees are fresh. We chose the cornbread skillet, herb roasted chicken and filet. We also split a side salad with their creamy garlic dressing and let me tell you that dressing is some wizardry. I’ve never had something that lit my tastebuds up like that dressing.

From the moment we stepped foot in the restaurant to the moment we left the service, the detail, the conversation, the drinks and the food were an experience. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Made a Tuesday reservation for an anniversary. Glad we did as it was packed. Friendly greetings from host staff and servers. Service was good, food was good. Prices were pretty reasonable for what you get. It’s well worth it for a special night

Troy, our server, was absolutely amazing. The level of detail and care that the serving staff take in their jobs is great. The food was amazing, but by far Troy was the best part of the experience.

131 Main offers a truly exceptional dining experience that warrants every one of its five stars. From the moment you step inside, you know you’re in for a treat.

Atmosphere: The restaurant strikes a perfect balance between upscale elegance and comfortable warmth. The inviting wood detailing and gas lamps at SouthPark creates a beautiful setting. The hickory wood fire grill scent subtly wafts through the air, adding an appealing, rustic note. It’s lively without being too loud—perfect for a special occasion or a sophisticated dinner.

Customer Service: Impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely focused on the guest experience. Our server offered spot-on recommendations and ensured our meal was paced perfectly, making us feel completely cared for without being rushed.

The Food—A Culinary Tour:
Every dish we tried was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and quality:
* Cedar Plank Salmon with Smashed Red Potatoes: The salmon was succulent, perfectly cooked on the cedar plank, giving it a subtle, smoky aroma. It was topped with a whole grain mustard butter sauce that was tangy and rich. The smashed red potatoes were creamy and buttery, seasoned beautifully, and made for the ideal hearty accompaniment to the delicate fish.

* Southern Shrimp and Grits: A southern classic elevated. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the dish was bathed in a traditional Cajun Creole sauce—spicy, rich, and deeply savory with a hint of cured ham. The white cheddar grits beneath were exceptionally creamy and cheesy, forming a luxurious base that was simply divine.

* Blackened Chicken Pasta: This dish delivered a fantastic depth of flavor. Tender roasted chicken and penne pasta were tossed in a luscious, spicy Cajun cream sauce, enriched with red peppers, broccoli, and bacon. The blackened seasoning on the chicken added a fantastic, smoky kick that made this a seriously satisfying entree.

* The Double Dip (or Triple Dip): We enjoyed their famed “Double Dip,” a marvelous appetizer featuring a smoky, fire-roasted pepper dip and fresh, vibrant guacamole, served with crisp tortilla chips. The dips were fresh, flavorful, and incredibly moreish—a great start to the meal.

* Soup of the Day (Mushroom and Artichoke): The soup was an absolute highlight. It was rich, earthy, and creamy, with the distinct, savory flavor of mushrooms perfectly complemented by the subtle, slightly tangy notes of the artichoke heart. A truly comforting and sophisticated starter.

* Brownie a la Mode: The perfect finish! The brownie was warm, fudgy, and intensely chocolatey, a wonderful contrast to the cool, melting scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was a classic dessert done right—decadent and satisfying.

131 Main is a Charlotte treasure. The dedication to fresh ingredients, the stunning atmosphere, and the flawless service combine to create a truly 5-star dining experience. Highly, highly recommended!
