The wife ordered quesadillas and I forgot the name of what I ordered. But it was all good, we found the food to be good and tasty. The chips and salsa had a nice spicy tang to it as did our dishes.
The waitress was fast and attentive; always ready to refill a glass or see if we lacked for anything.
All in all it was a good dining experience at the time of our visit.
Not to forget, there are pictures lining the walls that I believe are for sale.
Combination plate Xmas style was great, especially the delightfully crispy relleno. Green chile stew had a red color – my favorite way to do it – and had great homestyle flavor. Properly brewed, nice and dark colored iced tea was some of the best we’ve had.
Service from David and others was excellent – attentive without being overbearing – and watching David handle the place as it filled up on a Saturday lunch rush was impressive – he does a great job. Tip him well.
I discussed reviews that claimed they were rude with a nice young lady whose name I didn’t get and the answer was clear – they suffer fools poorly. Good for them. Nobody should have to put up with loony, entitled customers. Act well and be treated well. It’s very simple.
This is a really good place. I look forward to our next visit.
This place has been around since 1940 and it’s part of the rich history of Route 66.
The staff were friendly and our waitress was super fast on the refills. It’s easy to give them 5 stars for their great service. It had a fun quiet family restaurant vibe and all the other couples and families seemed to really enjoy themselves too.
The food was great, as were the portions. I’m not usually someone who brings back leftovers but I did this time and that might be because I ate a lot of chips and salsa before my meal came – I also don’t normally fill up on those before dinner, but they were really good and came with 3 types of salsa.
The only issue has been service. On both visits, we overheard waitresses discussing the inconvenience of guests sitting in certain areas. I understand adjustments can be frustrating, but those conversations shouldn’t be heard by customers…it makes things uncomfortable. One waitress also seemed a bit bothered during our first visit, though service overall was still decent.
That said, the food keeps us coming back. Just hoping for a bit more professionalism in the future.
