RSVP was 4:00 pm. I arrived a few minutes early & left at 5:40 pm. After a wonderful day in Cassadaga, this ruined my entire day!

My server couldn’t have been less friendly if she tried: no name, no smile, no basic courtesy. A table for one apparently doesn’t earn the same respect & attention as a four-top.

When she took my drink order which was ice water with lemon on the side, she mumbled something about a pepper “on special” & quickly walked away; she brought a glass with a dried-out lemon wedge stuck on the rim like it had been dropped & stepped on.

I had to ask for EVERYTHING—what’s the soup? may I have more lemon? do you have dessert? is there a cash discount? — & the extra lemon never arrived.

My water never got refilled despite me parking the empty glass at the edge of the table as a hint. Then again, she never stuck around long enough to notice. Everything was “drop & run” like she was running from a fire. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. There was no excuse for this level of neglect.

The only nice thing I can say was the Caesar salad looked & tasted fresh, thankfully because it was all I would eat that night.

EVERY dish looked dirty. They all looked like my grandmother’s old porcelain with the rims all stained after 50 years of use.

Everything happened in 10 minute increments and in drop & run fashion! I don’t know what the rush was all about.

My appetizer, tomato-mozzarella caprese was on another dingy plate. The tomatoes were HOT, giving new meaning to “hothouse tomatoes,” & the mozzarella tasted like cardboard.

My Chicken Piccata dinner was on yet another dirty dish. There was barely any pasta & what should have been a bright lemon-butter-wine sauce was just a pool of oil under the noodles.

I had to flag down my waitress to ask for grated cheese, hoping it might help. She dropped a little plastic cup on the table of ice-cold, Kraft-style cheese & took off running again.

The chicken was SO salty it was inedible. The pasta was greasy. I pushed the whole plate to the far edge of the table so she couldn’t miss it—along with my empty water glass.

Within ten minutes of dropping the entrée, she slapped down the bill—without noticing the untouched food or the empty glass and ran off again.

She came for the payment, smiling for the first time. This was also the first time she bothered to ask if everything was ok. I told her, “NO! This is swimming in oil, the chicken is so salty I can’t eat it; actually the whole dish is inedible,”. The smile vanished. She grabbed the check, said, “I’ll remove it,” & ran. Normally an over-tipper, her tip went to zero right then.

She returned with the bill & immediately tried to speed off again. I called her to ask whether it reflected a cash payment. “No, I’ll have them fix that,” she said, grabbed it, & ran—again.

She returned with the new bill & as she was running away I asked if they served dessert. “Yes,” she answered annoyed, & ran off to get a menu, which was FILTHY. Every page had stains on both sides. My total bill was $12.91. I put $15 cash in the check presenter.

She came back 10 minutes later and I told her I didn’t want any dessert. She scooped up my payment, pointed at my still-empty glass that had been sitting there for 35 minutes, asked, “Do you want a water to go?”

Ten minutes later, she brought back $2 change—shorting me $.19—dropped it without a word, & was gone. The $.19 ended up being her tip only because I just wanted out of there!! I left mad & STILL HUNGRY!!

Summary:
• hot tomatoes with cardboard mozzarella
• inedible Chicken Piccata, no sauce
• pasta in a pool of oil
• dirty plates
• a filthy menu
• no refill
• wrong change
• a “drop & run” waitress who had to be flagged down for every single thing

Why isn’t there a manager on the floor making sure customers are being serviced properly?

Please be sure your blonde long haired, pony tail wearing waitress learns that ALL CUSTOMERS MATTER!!

Zero stars if I could!!!

Loved the atmosphere and decor. Felt like we discovered a hidden gem. Would recommend for all ages but might be too tempting for little hands as there is a lot of older delicate decor, and elderly people may have trouble with the uneven floors. Service was great. The prices were reasonable. Very surprised at the generous portions for the price. I had chicken piccata and hubby had chicken Parmesan. Our salads arrived quickly, were generous in size, and tasted freshly made. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Served hot and looked as good as it tasted. We hope to get a chance to go back before leaving the area this week.

This place has Cool decor. Good amount of seating. Has an old timey feel. My waitress was really nice. She ended up being the waitress for both lunch and dinner. There is indoor and outdoor seating. For lunch I ordered: Zuchinni fritte: these were tasty but they do break easy so ended up wearing some of the marinara sauce. Clumsy me. I also ordered the chicken carbonara flatbread, I was a fan. It was definitely easy to much on but also nice to have as a snack later. Later for dinner: I went back and sat at the bar. I got the
Blackened chicken Caesar salad, I wasn’t disappointed. For dessert I asked my waitress what she recommended and she suggested the Tuxedo bomb. It was sooo good! Mousse covered in chocolate. So delish. They had Live music during dinner time and later in the evening did karaoke. It Has two bars one full liquor the other looked like a wine bar. There was also a piano I believe where the live music was taking place.

Although the place doesn’t remind you of famous restaurant. It makes up to it with quality food service and atmosphere. I did a pasta dish that was big enough for 2 meals but I ate the whole dish. The sing a long was one of most fun things I ever experienced at a restaurant. Yes I will go again

We were here for a birthday dinner in a large group of 10. The restaurant is charming, and there is live music, but the food was a bit disappointing. I wasn’t expecting amazing for a small town, but the meatballs were undercooked. It took a long time for food to come out as well. Service was very friendly, and prices were very reasonable for the large portion sizes.

We sat quietly by the window, and listened to Sinatra. This restaurant has a great ambience. The food was fresh and delicious. Debbie our waitress, was very friendly and professional. It was a very quiet day, but we felt like we were just important even though we were just two of us having lunch we plan to go for dinner, when we go back. They have a great wine list, and an assortment of different Italian dishes. I’m pretty good with the Italian , so I cannot wait to taste their homemade dishes.

We had a great dinner & my granddaughter enjoyed the live pianist. It’s an unusual experience to hear someone sing & play piano while dining is a very cool old hotel. Definitely check it out while visiting a palm reader in Casadaga, FL. Good time had by all of us.

This restaurant is in a very old, funky hotel with wonderful furnishings and decor from another era. Although there are no vegan options on the menu, we had a delicious vegan meal: we ordered the portobello burger and asked them to leave off the cheese and substitute ciabatta bread for the brioche that it usually comes on. And the sweet potato fries on the side were delicious. Great service and fabulous ambiance. Well worth a visit!

Food was alright. Service was alright. Nothing spectacular or exciting. The most irritating thing was the menu didn’t match “how the new chef wanted it cooked”. I ordered shrimp and grits. The menu described one thing and I was served plain, dry grits and 5 shrimp. My kid asked for a shrimp at which time I realized the meal was cold… not just cooling off cold, but actually cold. So I mentioned it to the server and asked about the gravy that was supposed to be on top of the dish (not only as the menu says, but also as is typical of “shrimp and grits”) and was met with the aforementioned reasoning and a microwaved plate of the same dry grits and now 4 shrimp. And it was not very good.
