Our waitress Sydney was PERFECTION! All our food came out correctly. She offered drinks and apps. Every trip to the table she made sure we had drinks and anything else we needed for our meal. Our pups were with us this meal. The old cranky pup barked every time she came back but she stayed cordial and smiled. (Sorry he was cranky, Sydney.) We ate on the patio which was nice. The winds were pretty heavy but luckily the hotel across the street shielded us from that. Of course we need talk about the food. We had Oysters Rockefeller, fried oysters, fried seafood platter and crab legs. My drink was the Nauti Margarita. DELICIOUS! We’ve eaten there the last three times we vacationed at Virginia Beach. The food is consistently fresh, hot and seasoned. Hands down would recommend coming to Nautilus.

Stopped in for dinner while in Va Beach. Let me first say that you won’t find better service than this place offers. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was what you would want for a seafood restaurant at the beach.
My only issue was with the food. Most of what we had was good. Being from Maryland we ordered the Crab cakes(which server recommended). Upon eating, it was apparent that the crab cake was all filling with little to no crab meat(see photo). Maybe it was an off day.
Other than that had a great time for dinner and drinks.

This is a really good seafood place. The wife wanted to try the she crab soup and said its was top 2 of all time she has tried. I wanted some fried shrimp so i got the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. They were really good. I had the shrimp basket and fries and they didnt disappoint. My wife got the same with hushpuppies i tried the hushpuppies and they were good. A good choice for seafood at a good price

We enjoyed our experience here but there were a few downsides.
The service was incredible and our waitresses were attentive and professional. The outdoor seating was nice for cool evening in July. The inside was too cold, so glad we got to sit outside.
On to the food review-
We tried the steamed oysters and clams to start- the oysters had much more flavor than the clams. I don’t remember ever having clams that tasted so bland- I think they may have been soaked in the garlic sauce too long.
The fried oysters were probably the best tasting menu item we got- the grilled peppers and zucchini were a good complement.
The crab soup was the highlight for me, very good flavor!
Kids for grilled cheese and fries/hushpuppies. They both liked the food, and said the grilled cheese was one of the best they have had!
We also got a Nati-Pail with a classic margarita. This was a great decision, as we put two straws in if and enjoyed it even after dinner walking around the boardwalk.

We got the seafood boil here, portion size was great and it was delicious.
Service was great they checked on us several times and made sure our drinks were filled. Other than the Chowder at Eddie’s this was our favorite food here at VB.

Very slow evening and most of the staff was sitting at a table on their phones. Waited a while for someone to come to our table and the another 10 minutes for 3 sweet teas (which tasted awful). I got a side salad – the salad it self looked good but the ranch was unrecognizable- thick in the cup and smelled/tasted nothing like ranch. My broiled fish was decent, the roasted potatoes were tough – not sure when they were roasted.

Plain nautical theme restaurant in Virginia Beach.
Typical seatown food offerings. Everything we ordered in our visit was decent. The chicken sandwich, the Santa Fe salad, and the Fish & Chip were generally good. The service was very good. We got what we ordered promptly.
Our visit was during the off-season, so this review may not be an accurate reflection of a typical restaurant on a boardwalk in a summer. But..when you had a nice day, even average food with excellent service made the outing great.

After a day spent on the beach for my friend Melissa’s birthday, we decided to eat here for her birthday dinner. I ordered she crab soup and bang bang shrimp for appetizers. Both were absolutely delicious, but I could have eaten a bucket full of that heavenly she crab soup…..the best I have ever had. For entrees, Melissa chose fish and shrimp (fried) with fries as her side. I chose fried oysters with a side house salad (it was rather large which was appreciated). The oysters were very delicious but extremely small (a few weeks ago I had fried oysters in Holden Beach, NC that were at least 2 times larger than these at a restaurant named Mermaids……maybe find out where they purchase their oysters). Our waitress Diane was very attentive with great customer service provided. Two things bothered me but had no effect on my rating as I look at taste of food, customer service of my waitress, and cleanliness of the restaurant. First, when my friend and I arrived, others were seated after us. Waitresses came and waited on them, but no one came to our table. Finally, a waitress asks if a server had addressed us yet, and I told her no. She sends one to the table immediately. Second, I noticed a photographer going to EVERY table offering to take pictures. He never once approached our table our entire visit. I almost asked him if we were too ugly for his camera or something….lol. Anyway, all of our food was delicious but a bit pricey. We initially came here to eat as in the Google reviews and in Google, they are listed under VA Beach restaurants with seafood buffets which they DO NOT have. Our appetizers, my tea, and my friends Sprite cost me $97 and some change plus all tip. We could have gone to Captain George’s Buffet for that.

Wonderful staff! My steak tasted a bit too charred almost like charcoal bricks. And honestly the shrimp should be deveined already and not have the customers have to do it while the rest of their food is getting cold.
