I’ve been here enough times with a couple coworkers that the staff recognizes us now. We always sit at the sushi conveyor, and usually manage to sit at the same table.
The food is always great. A few of our favorites are the red dragon, volcano, and Sandy rolls. One of the guys gets the bento box lunch and he’s always happy with that.
Occasionally I’ll get a Sapporo beer, which is always great.
My one coworker is mildly obsessed with sushi, so any opportunity he can get for us to agree to come here, he takes it. Not that it takes much for me to agree, as I love being able to have a variety of different rolls without having to eat the whole thing. The small portions are nice.
The service is always quick and courteous. Only thing I’ll suggest: if you do split checks, make sure you’re paying for the right things.
Overall, it’s worth it for the price at the high quality of food. We’ve never done the teppanyaki side, but maybe one day.

Went with a group. First time and last.
To be fair the others would rate higher.
For me, I am not a fish eater. The menu is very fish heavy. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken.
This is the type of place the chef cooks your meal at your table. Somewhat interesting but no special show. My chicken breast turned out over cooked and dry. The fried rice was okay. The noodles not to my liking. $$ was actually reasonable. Service was good. The tables/counters are old and show wear and cracks.
Again to be fair, this is just not my kind of food so my ratings reflect that. Everyone else was into fish and I heard no complaints.

I am someone who never leaves reviews; I usually just keep my thoughts to myself and move on. However, after years of coming to JuRin, this experience was so disappointing that I felt I had to speak up. As a former hibachi restaurant manager, I was shocked by the lack of basic hospitality and professional standards.
We came in to celebrate a birthday, but it felt like we were a burden rather than guests.

The Service Failures:
• Zero Hospitality: We weren’t greeted—just a blunt ‘Birthday?’ from a server who seemed like he couldn’t wait for us to leave. No smile, no effort.

• Fundamental Errors: The server messed up the order sheet mapping, forcing the hibachi chef to question us about where we were sitting. This is common sense in a hibachi room and it made the meal awkward.

• Billing & Attitude: We were overcharged for a meal and an extra beer (charged for 4, only had 3). When I tried to help fix the check, the server visibly sighed and showed his irritation. I was trying to be helpful to someone who clearly lacked basic serving knowledge, but it was met with attitude.

It’s sad to see a former favorite fall this far. I was trying to be helpful, but it’s clear there is a major lack of training and service knowledge here.

I’d honestly rather spend my money at Benihana at this point, and that’s not even that good. We definitely will NOT be back.”

Have been going for YEARS for all of our bdays to the Elgin location. Mind you five of us so five times a year plus we usually have a big group. The server last night must of rolled her eyes at us 15 times, very rude. To the point we wanted a different server. Acted like she was inconvenienced to serve our party of 5. The chef tried but at that point she ruined our night so we just wanted to leave. And the music was obnoxious. I don’t know what changed but it’s gone downhill big time. Will go to the Geneva location from now on. They are so sweet and great service.

We order sushi to go several times a month. Jurin has proven to be an excellent choice! It is always fresh. If they can’t serve a quality piece they will tell you and ask if you want an alternative. The volcano rolls are spicy and tasty. All of the sushi options are fresh and clean tasting.

Regular hibachi spot. The waitress was ok. We had to wait for a while in-between service and we had 5 people.

The sushi was great. The hibachi was middle of the road. The sake was too hot; it burned myself and another person I was with. 6/10 overall.

Second time visiting this place and I have to say that it is okay. This time I got the filet mignon and scallops. The scallops disappointed, they lacked flavor. The meat was tender and flavorful, the fried rice was delicious but the veggies were overcooked.

It was my son’s 12th Birthday! He had a great time and thought it was cool they give you a rose. He also enjoyed the chef popping shrimp into his mouth, that was the first time he experienced that. All around good service, great food and experience. We enjoy coming here, they never disappoint.

We ordered through Uber Eats, and the pickup time was 12:43 PM. My husband arrived around 1:10 PM, and the staff seemed unaware of our order. They first said it had already been picked up, then realized it hadn’t even been made. They only started preparing it after we had already waited well past the pickup time—and without any apology.
Very frustrating experience. Unbelievable. First and last time. Never again.

This used to be a staple for our family, coming for every birthday for over a decade. Recently it seems the quality went downhill. The sushi wasn’t very good, at least not as good as it was years ago. Also, the wasabi was very bland and almost no spice level to it, so I assume just old wasabi? Not sure. It was odd. I’ve loved this place for years and I hope to see them turn things around. They used to have great sushi, but something changed.
