As a newbie in the area of Lake Wales in Polk County, we find Woody’s as one the best places to eat… Their portions are large, the flavor of their food is ‘home cooked’, Kayla our server was nice and not overly ‘attentive’. We’ve been in this place twice already in two weeks 🙂 – I love their prime rib it wasn’t thick and dry, plus there is a lil bit of fat.. my husband didn’t like it ‘coz he likes it thick and medium rare. Also, we like their spare ribs bbq and the cinnamon butter spread for the bread was to die for ❤️

I stopped in today and was blown away from start to finish. The place was spotless — inside, outside, and even the restrooms were extremely clean. I was greeted right away by a friendly host and seated quickly.
My server, Abigail, was incredible! She had a fun, bubbly attitude and really seemed to love her job. She brought my drink super fast and was great at answering all my (many!) questions about the menu with honesty and confidence. She kept my drink full and checked in often to make sure everything was perfect.
The food came out in under 10 minutes — talk about efficiency! I ordered the lunch brisket with coleslaw, beans, and cornbread. The brisket was tender, juicy, and so soft I could cut it with a fork. The beans and coleslaw were flavorful, and the cornbread had a great texture — not too dry, just right.
All in all, Woody’s BBQ is top-notch from front to back. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area — you won’t be disappointed!

Our server (Delanie) was adorable, hilarious, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was great tasting, hot and well presented (full rack of baby back ribs- Nom-Nom-Nom) with sides that complement perfectly. I had a baked sweet potato and the first one brought out was the size of a normal carrot and Delanie replaced it immediately. The standard sauces are good (all tomato based with ‘southern sweet’, ‘Golden'[mustard] & ‘Hawt Mama’ [spicy]. The seating area is large with some privacy available, but all the seats are wood benches with remodeling happening soon (before end of 1st qtr ’26) we will definitely be going back after the remodel. I received a 10% military discount and that was much appreciated.

Best find on our way to Orlando. Food was delicious but the service by Delainie (spelling?) our server was superb. The place was clean and it looked like it has been recently renovated. It was the perfect quick stop to enjoy a delicious BBQ. The prices are great and their specials are amazing.

I don’t leave many reviews but wish we would’ve known ….We started off being seated at a table with so much smashed food on the floor we had to move it all ourselves. The table next to us had a dead roach on the floor. Bathrooms were disgusting to say the least. Food was mediocre at best. Our waitress was like Houdini…..would definitely go somewhere else if we’re in the area.

There was a bug in my drink, and also a trash can in the middle of the kitchen floor catching water from the roof. Can someone explain to me how that is sanitary in any way? Please do us all a favor and shut the doors because this is no way to treat your customers.

Ordered the Cajun Ranch wings and onion rings. Unfortunately, the wings were extremely overcooked and the onion rings were very greasy. Both left me with an upset stomach afterward. Service was also lacking—the waitress only came to our table once besides taking our order. When it came time to pay, the tip screen only offered 20%, 22%, or 25%, which felt inappropriate given the food quality and service. Even $5 felt like too much in this situation. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Our family stopped by after church and even though it was really busy, the service was quick! We ordered brisket, baby back ribs, corn, beans, and coleslaw, and everything was delicious. The portions were perfect for sharing, and the food quality was excellent. The staff was friendly, and we’ll definitely be back!
