Starters:
-The complimentary focaccia was fantastic. I wish they sold it by the tray!
-Beet salad was great and dressing was flavorful.
-Fork & knife salad was fairly standard in my opinion. Others at our table enjoyed it.
-Fried Chicken was fried nicely and the dipping sauce was top-tier for those who like a spicy & tangy sidekick.
Pastas & Mains:
-Tagliatelle was very tasty. The noodle was thin and almost melted in your mouth. Not al dente but it didn’t need to be.
-Tortellini was a bit bland but the selection of veg was well paired
-Rigatoni was good, especially the chunks of guanciale. Many restaurants make the guanciale tiny but I like how most of it was almost sugar cube sized
-Pork chop was the STAR of the show. Perfectly cooked, seared, and paired with the collard greens/figs.
Sides:
-Broccoli rabe was disappointing and bitter.
Food however is not memorable. Probably the fried chicken and lobster pasta were the best however clam didn’t stand out. Fries not recommended. Good prices for an evening out though!
Razor clams: Tangy, slightly savory, but you should prob pass on it at $7/pp.
Burrata Crostini: it looks amazing, but there was no flavor. I literally only tasted the crostini.
Farro Salad: Nice composition of flavors, but it doesn’t really stand out.
Tuscan Fried Chicken: Fairly flavorful and juicy, the best of the appetizers. But honestly, you are much better off going to a restaurant dedicated to fried chicken.
French Fries: Actually really good, crispy and salty. If I ever came back, I would always order these with my meal.
Chicken Milanese: ….the little side salad and the jam was the best part. The crust is the milanese is crispy and salted well, the chicken itself is cooked well….. But the chicken itself was not seasoned.
The portions were okay overall.
I’m not a picky eater by any means, but I was pretty disappointed overall with this meal. Maybe I was there the wrong day, but I left fairly disappointed. Although I rated it a 4 overall by NY standards, I would personally consider the food a 3/5 as I doubt I would ever return myself.
