I visited for lunch. I ordered Barg and Koobideh. Crispy rice and gheymeh.
I liked Barg Kebab, but not the koobideh. It was rubbery and overall not tasted well. The main dishes only have one skewer which for the price of $25 i did expect 2 skewers!
The gheymeh on crispy rice seemed old to me and wasn’t enough for the price.
I ordered Persian saffron ice-cream too which was really good. My check for one person was $63 before tip which was pricey in my opinion.
The service was good.

My family and I visited Alborz Restaurant in Tysons hoping for a flavorful Persian dining experience, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The food was surprisingly bland and lacked the bold flavors we were anticipating. Even the falooda dessert, which we were excited to try, seemed stale and disappointing.

While the service was technically fine, it felt tense at times—especially since we had a few kids with us who got a little loud. The staff kept giving us looks, making it clear this is not a very child-friendly restaurant.

Overall, the experience was underwhelming and not very welcoming, and we definitely won’t be returning. For anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Persian cuisine in the area, there are much better options that deliver on taste and a more family-friendly atmosphere.

Had Sunday lunch at Alborz and enjoyed, food and friendly staff and quick service. Restaurant can be loud as it’s filled with families enjoying time together. The best Persian food in the area!

This is the authentic Persian food restaurant i dont want to share because it’s so good and I don’t want this place to get super crowded. The service is great and the food is great, too. You can get some authentic stuff that’s not available at other restaurants.

Also, there is a huge parking space in the back.

I stopped by Alborz in Vienna late in the evening (around 9:30–10:00 pm) after my original dinner plans fell through when the neighboring restaurant closed early. While it was late and I wasn’t dressed for a formal night out, I was still a paying customer and expected basic courtesy.

Unfortunately, my first interaction set a very uncomfortable tone. I was met by a female waitress whose facial expression and body language were openly judgmental. Being stared up and down with what clearly read as disgust made me feel unwelcome immediately. No guest should feel judged the moment they walk through the door.

The experience improved once we were assisted by a male waiter, who was courteous, professional, and attentive. His service was the only reason the night didn’t feel like a total loss, and he deserves recognition for doing his job well.

The food itself was excellent and honestly that’s the reason I would even consider coming back. However, good food doesn’t excuse poor front-of-house behavior. I strongly hope management addresses professionalism with their staff, because guests should be welcomed not evaluated regardless of attire or assumptions made at first glance.

Went today for lunch, was impressed. Inside is very nice, but a little spartan. Food was excellent, just got chicken kebobs and rice, but was very good. Price was reasonable as well. Service was good and liked getting my free pita which they brought a 2nd. Probably will go back depending on how much longer I am in town.

$38 Dollars gets you this. Very disappointed with the food and presentation. The quality has gone down while the prices went up. A quarter tomato not even half a tomato. Dry meat, very disappointing,

I wouldn’t go back here. The food just wasn’t good. When you go to an Iranian restaurant, you expect good flavor and quality, but this place really missed the mark. The rice wasn’t good, and both the meat and the gheymeh bademjoon were pretty bland and low quality. Definitely not what I was hoping for. But the Persian ice cream and faloudeh was very delicious!!

I was really disappointed with my recent order from Alborz Restaurant. I had high expectations, but the food did not meet even the basic standards.

The ghormeh sabzi was especially bad — it lacked flavor, tasted stale, and had an odd texture. It didn’t taste fresh at all and honestly felt like it had been sitting out too long or reheated. This dish is a staple of Persian cuisine, and it was nowhere near what it should be.

Overall, the food was bland, poorly prepared, and not worth the price. I won’t be ordering again and definitely can’t recommend this place based on my experience.

I’ve ordered from Al Norzé many times now, mostly for takeout, and they’ve become one of my favorite spots in the Tysons area for Afghan and Mediterranean cuisine. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.

My usual go-to is the chicken sultani — it’s always juicy, perfectly seasoned, and grilled just right. It comes with rice, naan, and salad, and the portions are very generous. You definitely won’t leave hungry. I’ve also had their kabobs (both chicken and beef), which are excellent — tender meat with that perfect smoky char. Their hummus is smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of garlic, and pairs perfectly with their warm Afghan naan.

What stands out to me, besides the food, is the service. Whether I’m ordering in person or calling ahead for pickup, the staff is polite, efficient, and quick to get the order ready. Even when the place is busy, they stay organized and keep things moving smoothly.

The ambiance inside is fine — it’s clean, spacious, and has a casual feel. It’s not a fancy sit-down restaurant, but it’s comfortable enough if you want to dine in.

Overall, Al Norzé is a reliable, affordable, and high-quality option if you’re craving Afghan or Middle Eastern food in the Tysons or Vienna area. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you appreciate grilled meats, flavorful rice, and hearty, home-style cooking.
