This was, without exaggeration, the worst food we’ve ever had. We’re engineers who work locally and order from countless restaurants in the area, and this place will never get our business again. Here’s what we ordered:

1. Brussels Sprouts with Pork Belly – The portion was laughable. Four sprouts cut in half and barely any pork belly.

2. Short Rib Mac & Cheese – Completely dry, and whatever “short rib” was in there tasted burnt. It was inedible.

3. Calamari – Zero flavor and obviously frozen. Also inedible.

4. Mahi Mahi Tacos – So overcooked the fish looked and chewed like chicken. Easily the worst version I’ve ever had.

5. Steak Fajitas – Drenched in a thick, gloopy gravy-like mess. I’ve never seen fajitas served like that.

6. Shrimp Dish – The only thing remotely decent, which isn’t saying much.

We also ordered chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and penne vodka. I wasn’t there when those were eaten, but they’re basics—hard to screw up.

The one positive: the bartender was great—friendly, attentive, professional. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that even excellent service couldn’t save the experience.

This is my second time coming to Gabriele’s… first time I came we had the braised short rib and I had the ribeye and it was excellent. This time we had the buffalo chicken flatbread(amazing) especially because it wasn’t heavy and we all know how heavy a buffalo chicken slice can be. I would dare good for those who are on a diet you won’t feel too guilty with this one. Entrees were the Mac and cheese and boneless short ribs while I again(creature of habit) had the ribeye. Again both excellent. Service was great, thanks Allison!! She was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied throughout our meal. Definitely recommend and will make our regular go to.

I usually come to your bar during happy hour to enjoy Kane draft beer. From Monday to Friday, the promotion has always been $4 per draft, and it’s worked that way for me every time.
However, today (Friday at 4 PM) I was charged full price. When I asked why happy hour wasn’t applied, I was told that the promotion only applies to a different draft beer, not Kane. This seems strange, because Kane draft has always been included before. On your posted promotion, it just says “draft beer $4,” without specifying only one kind out of several.
I wanted to clarify if there has been a change in the happy hour rules. I’ve enjoyed coming here regularly, but it’s disappointing when expectations set by your promotion aren’t met.

A couple miles down the road and a regular spot for me (few times a month). Good place to pop in. We’ve been going here for a couple of years now. It’s a great place to sit at the bar, grab a drink, and hang out. The menu is solid and the food is consistently good, drinks are well made, and the bartenders are always friendly. The crowd’s a good mix — younger, older, and Rutgers peeps before games. The vibe is always right: lively but never rowdy. They’ve added live bands on Friday nights and a DJ on Saturdays. I haven’t eaten in the dining room but it definitely seems like a good option for families or groups too.

Shoutout to our waiter Brandon for outstanding service! He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel very welcome. Everything came out perfectly and he made sure our table was taken care of all night. We’ll definitely be back!

Gabriele’s makes a fantastic first impression. You walk in and immediately think, “Oh this place is nice.” The atmosphere is great. The lighting is right. Everyone in our group was genuinely impressed.

Then we stood at the host stand.

And stood there.

And kept standing there.

It wasn’t clear if we were early, invisible, or part of the décor. Eventually, someone turned around and acknowledged us, which was reassuring. Not in a “welcome to Gabriele’s” kind of way. More in a “oh, you’re still here” kind of way.

We sat down and met our server. Since it was our first time, we asked the most normal question possible: “What are your favorite things on the menu?”

This is where things took a turn.

Instead of recommending anything, she began listing the things we should never order. Not in a joking way. In a deeply sincere, battle-worn way.

“Don’t get the soup.”
“Stay away from the tacos.”
“Some of the stuff here is horrible.”
“I get complaints all the time.”

It was less of a menu recommendation and more of a consumer warning. I felt like I was being quietly rescued.

At that point, ordering anything felt like signing a waiver.

The food itself wasn’t terrible. Mine was fine. Some people at the table weren’t thrilled with theirs, but honestly, the expectations had already been lowered so effectively that it barely registered.

I’ve never had a server try to talk me out of the menu before. Points for honesty, I guess.

Brandon was our waiter tonight and he was awesome! He asked us multiple times if we needed anything and with a smile! Our food was amazing and came out quickly! Even though it was later in the night…we were not rushed! We will be back!

The manager sucks. I was there during a NFL Thursday night football game. And I didn’t get a waiter for atleast 1 hour of waiting. I had to trace one down. I was there with friends. One of my friend is 6’8 and he asked if they can take the Halloween decorations down because it was blocking his view of the T.V. The manager rudely said they he has to ask his wife and walked away with a smile. I waited at unless until halftime of the game to get one single beer. That place is horrible being ran. I would never go back. I wanted to spend more there. But the service was horrible.
