My family and I were visiting the area for a family member’s wedding. We walked in on a Friday evening. The first thing we noticed was the establishment was very clean! We were greeted with a smile by two young females behind the counter. The menu was easy to read and order from. My husband ordered fried shrimp & mussels with fries, and my son ordered fried chicken strips with fries and for myself, I ordered the fried shrimp with fries. The food was brought out to us by a nice young gentleman. It was fresh and crispy! They also were not stingy with their sauces! Which I was impressed! As we are from California we have to practically beg for sauce!! lol

We originally came because my husband loves seafood, so I got the chicken tenders meal expecting just regular chicken tenders. They’re chicken tenders are amazing! Fries are well seasoned. I’m not a huge fan of seafood but they’re flounder and shrimp was pretty good as well. Definitely planning on coming again.

Impressive catfish sandwich. Would prefer whole piece of lettuce instead of shredded, especially to help hold together sandwich of a flaky fish and thicker tomato slice. This may be cost prohibitive. Otherwise is great bun and fish as well as sauce. Will order again.

The food was absolutely percent delicious. The service was stellar even though my order didn’t go thru the first time I appreciate the care and love it taste like they put into their food. On all my visits to the VA hospital I know where I’m going. I wonder if they offer military disounts…. I was so engulfed in the delicious aroma I couldn’t think straight. I ordered the skrimp and crab meat po’boy with a 2 crab cake dinner ( should’ve gotten the lunch) those were the biggest crab cakes I can ever remember eating… and delicious… even Phillips in Baltimore didn’t impress my taste buds like this… had my mind body and soul wanting this daily for lunch!!! This was right before my sleep study so it knocked me out completely….slept like a baby lol. WOW!

Make sure to stop here every single time I’m in town for catfish nuggets and fries! I was never a catfish person until I had their nuggets, now it’s one of the things I look forward to while traveling. You won’t be disappointed. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming as well.

My wife and I visited Buckroe Beach for the first time and wanted to find a nearby fast-casual spot to grab lunch. After some googling, we found Skrimp Shack and ordered two skrimp/camp po boys, fries and banana pudding for pickup online. The food was ready quickly, priced fairly, had generous portions, and it was all delicious. Would definitely eat here again on our next trip to the beach.

Tough and bland.
Chicken sandwich bun was soaked with grease. We just moved to Hampton from Pittsburgh. Can now say we tried the place. Wont be repeat customers though.

Used to love this place but its not the same. Prices have gone up and quality gone down. Tonight I ordered a scallop dinner and it was the worst scallops dinner i ever had. The breading on the scallops was mushy and the scallops were tasteless. I am really disapointed in how bad my food was tonight. The bright spot tonight was my moms fish sandwich, she said it was good.
