Great place to come in and sit down with your family. Have come a few times for the all you can eat chicken dinner on Sundays. The chicken is delicious wonderfully seasoned. The sides of Mashed potatoes, corn, greenbeans, and chicken and dumplings. Truly makes it feel like a home cooked vibe. I have also had the catfish as well and you cant go wrong with.

Listen. If fried chicken were a love language, this place would be my soulmate.

Good Ol’ Days Family Restaurant in New Baden, IL is serving up food so good, you’ll question your entire upbringing. It isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a full blown Southern comfort experience. It’s the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell people about… because then everyone will start going and there might be a wait for that crispy chicken perfection.

Their all-you-can-eat fried chicken deal is $13.99 and honestly? That’s offensive to inflation. This chicken is golden, juicy, crispy perfection—and they just keep bringing it like it’s their job (because it is, and they’re THRIVING).

We didn’t do the all you can but our bill for dinner for two? $24 total. I almost felt like I was stealing.
Brownies? ONE. DOLLAR. Moist, chocolatey squares of joy sprinkled with powdered sugar and probably magic and taste like a chocolate hug.
The sides? Green beans that taste like Sunday supper. Mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Coleslaw. And don’t even get me started on those rolls— fluffy carb clouds of joy and so big they need their own zip code.

Their slogan is, “Food so good, you’ll think we stole your grandma,” and I’ve never felt so seen. I never met my grandmas, but if they cooked like this, I get why they’d get snatched.

If you’re within 50 miles of this place, reroute your life.
No frills. No fluff. Just fried chicken and feelings.

The staff here treated us like family and were so kind. We had a terrible day with car trouble and were over five hours from home. We needed a place to go. The mechanic recommended this spot.

We had some energetic kids with us so the staff was happy to accommodate us with the back seating area. The food was great and came out pretty quick. Their pie is awesome! This will officially be a stop for us when we take this route again. Thank you for your hospitality!

LOVE this restaurant! If you love home cooked comfort food and a friend of the family feel, Good ‘OL Days is the place to go! The home like atmosphere extends not only from the decor but also to the delicious food and warm welcoming service. Our server Heather immediately made us feel at home and never failed to take care of us throughout the entire experience. We ordered the cooked to order fried chicken which, of course, takes a little extra time. No problem if you are really hungry like we were because Heather got us our drinks and warm rolls with butter immediately. The rolls are right out of the oven delicious! Before we realized it she served our piping hot chicken dinners. The chicken is juicy and delicious! The sides we ordered were equally delicious, mashed potatoes and gravy (your choice of white or brown), green beans, corn, coleslaw, and a great big bake potato were our choices. Don’t miss the wonderful home baked pies for your dessert! All of this wonderful meal and service was at a bargain price!

How do you say beyond fantastic? This place makes me want to move to the area just so I can eat here all the time! Mainly on-road parking, but we found a few nearby parking lot areas to put our truck and pontoon. Fun menu with so many options it took the 6 of us quite a while to pick! We got the pulled pork pile, a pulled pork sandwich, the ribs, a double cheeseburger and a Cobb salad. Only disappointment out of all of that was the Cobb salad, it said it was a mixture of greens but was sadly just iceberg lettuce. We all left stuffed to the gills! Rolls were delicious. Sides were amazing. Portions were huge, and prices were very reasonable. Decor throughout the restaurant created a fun, nostalgic atmosphere, and our service was top notch! The pie and dessert list was endless, but none of us had room for it. We are definitely keeping this one on the radar for any future trips to southern IL. Thanks for making the last meal on our 8 day vacation by far the best!!

I love this place. The atmosphere is great and Sundays and Wednesdays they have all you can eat fried chicken and sides of mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, chicken and dumplings, corn for $10.99 per person.

Their food is very good, made from scratch, and just reminds me of dinners my grandma used to make. The staff is always very kind and accommodating.

****wheelchair ♿ access, but you have to go inside and ask for the ramp.

Nice small place.
NOT ADA accessible.
Food was pretty good. Philly cheese steak was nice. Great home chips. Tenders were over done, but good flavor.
$65 plus tip got us 3 sweet teas, 1 coke, 2 philly cheese steaks, 1 ribeye sandwich, 1 chicken strips. All the sandwiches had one side. Chicken strips had 2. Fair value. Only complaint was drink refills. I drink a lot, so I was not horribly upset, but I was empty 2 times during the meal. We would be back, if in the area again.
