There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived, but we waited a long time to order. We arrived around 6:40 p.m. and didn’t get our food until about 7:30 p.m.
I would come back for the pasta, but I’d skip the pizza next time.
there’s also outside seating available. We went for dinner last Saturday and the food was very, very tasty! You get sourdough rolls with garlic butter. We had
Chicken Parmigiana and Spaghetti Pomodori with shrimp both with generous portions. Plus, we had a very good bottle of Chianti Classico Reserva wine. For dessert we ate the chocolate Gelato and we ordered the Tiramisu to go. Our server George was excellent, he’s very nice, attentive, and knows what he’s doing. We knew him from a previous place. We also want to give a shot out to Marian, who we talked to for awhile, and she was very nice as well.
We’ll be back!!
We recently ate at Georgios again, and George waited on us again and we really like him. We sat inside and had the house salad, homemade minestrone soup, and for our main courses the New York Steak with mashed potatoes, vegetables and Spaghetti with marinara sauce and mushrooms. Everything was really good! The amount of Spaghetti you get is really big and I had to take some home. For dessert, we had chocolate Gelato.
Now, they have their liquor license, so you can have a cocktail.
Went for dinner again, and of course the one and only George was our server!
We had a bottle of wine, LA Bruschetta to start. Our main courses were Cappellini Pomodori with Shrimp and a D’s Big Bacon Cheese Burger. We had the bacon on the side this time. Both were really, really good! The portions are large and the burger is big! We ordered the Strawberry Cheese Cake to go.
We went again recently and of course George was our excellent server! You get sourdough rolls, but this time we ordered the Sausage Bread which has slices of their own family made Italian Sausage, which by the way is sooo good!
Our mains were the Chicken Parmigiana and the Cheese Ravioli with Italian Sausage and both of course were so good. The portions are always plentiful for sure. George did give us a brownie! One thing about the bar is that they got rid of the bar stools without any backs and replaced them with some really nice ones with backs and padded seats.
We ordered off the vegetarian options on the menu.
We started with the minestrone soup and although it has chicken broth, we were ok with that. The bread on the house was soft and delicious! But the soup was quite lacking in flavor.
We ordered a vegetable pizza and the fettuccine Alfredo. The vegetables on the pizza were like semi baked (zucchini) and the tomato slices on top were placed as garnish, which is a slightly different concept for me, but I’m not sure I’m a fan. It also lacked quite a bit in flavor IMO and tasted quite bland.
The pasta was ok; nothing to write home about.
The service was good and staff was pleasant but the food unfortunately was a little disappointing. Again this is the vegetarian part of the menu and that may be the reason
there is outdoor dining area and a bar area to sit at kind of diner style in the restaurant as well as tables inside, however not so many. I can imagine these guys killing it with takeout.
I got the complimentary bread bowl which you have to ask for. It comes with delicious subtle garlic butter and fresh sourdough. I got the chicken parmigiana. It was a large platter of breaded chicken, spaghetti with marinara sauce, and garlic spinach. The chicken was insanely tasty with melted mozzarella and fresh tomatoes on top. It was well breaded and extremely tender on the inside. They did not skimp on the chicken at all with 2 big cutlets of it. The spaghetti also tasted extremely fresh with marinara sauce. The garlic spinach was very oily though, but it did have a subtle garlic flavor. I didn’t like the spinach as much. The portions were extremely large and I got 2 meals from it!
OVERALL, Giorgio’s was a delicious spot with decent service and great ambiance. The dishes were quite affordable for its large portions. I definitely recommend Giorgio’s to others, especially those who come in large parties.
My only frustration is with the reservation system. They won’t allow reservations for party of four, only tables for two, which doesn’t make much sense. And when I tried to book for a time between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. nothing was available. Okay, yet when I arrived there were plenty of open tables. Maybe there was no shows, but it still seemed odd.
Overall, the prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes and the food keeps me coming back; despite the corks and the reservation process.
We returned tonight and I got the cheese ravioli, my husband got the Chicken Parmigiana, and our friend got Shrimp Fettuccine. Everything was very good, including the rolls this time. I was particularly impressed with the marinera sauce and also the spinach with the Chicken Parmigiana. The service was attentive throughout and the server also split the check appropriately for us.
