I’ve been coming here since I first moved to Jacksonville over a decade ago, and somehow I’m only just now getting around to leaving a review, which honestly says more about consistency than anything else.
Everything here is flavorful and delicious. The spices are spot on, the food tastes fresh, and it’s the kind of place you remember years later and hope hasn’t changed, and it hasn’t.
We ordered the Hovan roll (wrap), and while it did get a bit soggy due to the wait time getting it home, the flavor was absolutely there. Even not at its peak texture, it was still really good. (Jessica wanted to make sure that part was noted.)
If you’re eating it fresh, I can only imagine it’s even better. Solid, reliable Mediterranean food that holds up over time. Definitely recommend.

Visited:: 11Nov25. First time eating here. Ordered the lamb gyro with hummus on the side. One of the top places I’ve eaten at for gyros. Could have used a little more tzatziki but other then that the flavor was really good. Not an over the top place just a nice chill feel to it. Staff was nice. Make sure to get the pita bread warm! That was def the cherry on top

The reviews are spot on for this restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed a late lunch and it was our first time visiting this place. The lamb gyros were very delicious and the hummus tasted very good too. The restrooms are in excellent condition and well maintained. The prices were fair. The pita bread for the gyros and the hummus were good and hot.

We had a fantastic lunch experience at Hovan. Staff was incredibly friendly and patient as my husband and I decided on what we wanted to eat.
The food was so incredibly fresh which I just absolutely loved. You can tell the ingredients that are used are top quality and are very authentic.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was also impressive. Not once did I see or experience anything gross with the floors, tables, near the drink station, etc.
We chose to sit indoors, but there’s a very nice outdoor seating area that a lot of people took to.
Overall, this was a great experience and a locals hidden gem. We thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back!

We used Hovan catering at our wedding this month and it was incredible!! Before wedding day we went into the restaurant and they let us try all the things. They were so accommodating and made sure we were all take care of for the catering order. The food was a huge hit and everyone said they loved it. Their chicken salad and chocolate pistachio baklava left everyone very happy and wanting more!! No dish went uneaten. I would recommend Hovan to anyone needing catering or just a good place to eat 🙂

Casual atmosphere with great food! All the items were well done and very tasty. You have to go through a buffet like line placing your order as you go so not a date type place, but really good food at good prices. Great lunch spot to sit outside and enjoy 5 .Points

Loved this Mediterranean experience. The food was served with many options and large portions at a very reasonable price – delicious!!! The servers were helpful and friendly. I loved that they played Greek music to match the food and decor. Will definitely return to this gem.

Delicious falafel!!!
Mediterranean food is my favorite, being mostly vegan/veggie it is always a great wonderful choice but their dishes were particularly yummy 🙂 My mom, sister and her 2 year old loved their food, too! Very casual, cool environment and very Greek vibes, lots of blue and white (of course!) Will most definitely be coming back here with my partner, as it is half a mile from my house in Riverside. Awesome service, friendly staff, no complaints here

Been going for over 20 years, and it is still delicious. Fast and friendly service from Johnny and Jayson. The food is made and served with love and care. Consistent quality and very good prices. Gyro is tender and juicy. All the sides are fresh and tasty. Chocolate baklava is ahhhhmazing. You won’t be disappointed.
