Ordered the Meat Daddy.Brisket was good as was the turkey.Ribs were dry with burnt ends black.I liked the pulled pork&bbq sauce that came with it. Wasn’t very hot by the time I got home, only about 5-7 minutes away.French fries were lukewarm, sweet tea was delicious.

Pretty darn good, but not unique.

I stopped in randomly as I was staying at the Holiday Inn across the street and happened to drive by. I was there about 4pm on a Tuesday and had the place to myself.

Typical BBQ place menu: pick a sandwich, or build your own plate and add sides.

I had the brisket, pulled pork and turkey, along with mac & cheese, and hash brown casserole.

The turkey was moist and smoky. The pulled pork was juicy and had good flavor. The brisket was tender.

The mac and cheese was pretty mid-tier. I dont know that it was but if you told me it came from a box or can, I wouldnt question you.

I’m not sure about the hasbrown casserole. It had chunks of meat in it, but I couldn’t tell what it was.

Serving sizes were adequate and I didn’t leave hungry.

The woman taking my order was polite but didn’t add much to the guest experience.

Total for a 3 meat plate with two sides, a key-lime slice of pie and 1 bottle drink was about $35.

Overall, it was good but not amazing. I definitely dont have any complaints, but it also wasn’t special or unique.

I have been overseas for 5 years. Never found real, authentic bbq. Got back recently and couldn’t wait to find some delicious southern ribs. Sugarfire was recommended to me.
OMG YES!!! They were fall off the bone smoked, tender, juicy, heaven! I nearly cried they were so good! I didn’t want anyone to speak to me while I slowly chewed and savored every single bite! The sauces were lovely but these ribs needed nothing what so ever on them. Sheer perfection! Baked beans were delicious too. Savory and sweet.

Fries disgusting. How can you go wrong with fries! I should’ve saw the red flag seeing a ton of fries sitting out just to be dumped into grease to warm back up.

To top it off lack of basic sanitation. If you sweep the floor why change one glove instead of both ! Not even worth turning around. Waste of money.

Sugarfire BBQ in Wentzville is hands down one of the best BBQ spots around. The food is always top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every bite, from the perfectly smoked meats to their crispy, fresh-cut French fries that are always salted just right.

The service is just as impressive as the food. Everyone who works here is friendly, helpful, and clearly takes pride in making sure customers have a great experience. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, with plenty of seating and TVs so you can relax and enjoy your meal.

One of my favorite things is their Sunday bread pudding—it changes every week, and it’s always a must-have side. It’s such a unique and delicious addition that keeps me coming back.

If you’re in Wentzville and craving BBQ, Sugarfire is the place to go. Fantastic food, amazing people, and a relaxed, comfortable vibe. Highly recommend!

I usually stop in every couple of months, and the food has always been pretty good. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. Both the pork and the brisket were much fattier than usual, and the overall quality just wasn’t what I’ve come to expect.
Prices have also gone up, and they now separate sides into “regular” and “premium,” which used to all be included without an upcharge. For a counter‑service restaurant, the cost is starting to feel too high for the quality and service provided.
I hope this was just an off day, but it was noticeably below the standard that kept me coming back.

Food was good, wish they weren’t out of sausage and ribs but what they did have was really good and I rather have some good than old everything.
Servers were very attractive and attentive, hard to find in many places, volleyball games outside seemed really fun

Great sandwiches. Excellent beverage options. Potato salad was good. Plenty of sauce choices.

A Disheartening First Bite

By 6:30 p.m., the restaurant was already out of ribs — a disappointing start at a place known for its barbecue. I settled for the brisket, only to be served meat that was dry throughout, with a burnt rub that tasted overwhelmingly of charcoal.

Ironically, the best part of the meal was the fried green tomatoes — well-executed, but not what one comes to a barbecue joint for.

Suggestions for management:
– Please don’t serve meat this overcooked; it should never leave the kitchen.
– Post clear signage when items run out to prevent confusion and delays.

With so much potential, this visit fell flat. I may give it another try — but not soon.

The smoked salmon sandwich was so tasty and the hash brown casserole was fantastic.
Wish we had a place like this back in Detroit.
