No instructions were provided onscreen to complete the transaction that could summon assistance and food. I left after seven minutes and dodged the vehicles racing to enter the drive-thru lanes to return to my parking stall and vehicle.
I placed a call to speak to the staff. I reported that I was sitting in my car after seven minutes of hungry frustration inside of the dining area and had arrived to enjoy breakfast inside of the dining area. The woman on the phone said, “What?”
I carefully repeated the message. Again, the woman said, “What?”
“May I please speak to the manager?? I asked.
“This is the Manager speaking.” came the reply.
After a pause, “I’m inside my car… in the McDonald’s parking lot here in Alexander City, Alabama… I wasn’t able to place an order in the dining room… I would like to eat inside, not in my car…” I repeated with the patience and calm of a Saint. I had waited for five minutes, was not able to place an order successfully using the kiosk and returned to my vehicle after seven minutes without assistance.
“Okay, come on in, I’ll help you.”
Note to Self: I don’t like eating in my car. The food drops crumbs, the drink is often served with some of it’s contents on the exterior of the cup or overfilled and begins to bleed overtop of the lid and down the side of the cup. When you’re done, you have a packaging debris and any leftover food, crumbs, cheese melted into the wrapper, etc., remaining in your vehicle together with the odor of food, all of which lingers and attracts rodents.
I returned to the dining room. A member of the McDonald’s crew came to the counter shortly afterward and I placed the order and received the “Have a Blessed Day” salute to God and Jesus.
Amen
The problem is you never know when they are going to open the doors. The sign says opens at a but I’ve been after 7 more than once and doors on both sides are locked.
I’ve called Deck foods 3 or 4 times the last couple of years but doesn’t solve the problem.
When we asked if we could substitute the biscuits since we had paid for McGriddles, one employee at the window said it was fine, but another behind her said it wasn’t. After that, we ended up waiting about 40 minutes for soggy Mcgriddles, cold eggs and bacon. By that time, they were already serving lunch. We spent around $60 for cold food that no one wanted. Very disappointing experience.
Later that same night, I returned to buy food for myself, and the same manager had the drive-thru line backed up for 40 minutes. You could see her laughing about it, clearly not caring about the customers or workers like me just trying to do our jobs. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and she should not be in a management position. I won’t be returning to this location, and I hope management addresses this immediately.
