Also, their delivery radius is ridiculous. Who lives within 5 minutes of their restaurant??? What’s the point in having delivery?
We will be going elsewhere for our subs from now on because we’ve given them enough chances to get it right.
My family and I really like JJs, but this location has convinced us to stop consuming JJs altogether. This store is not “freaky fast” but rather “freaking slow” (both at making sandwiches and at the drive thru window). Nine times out of ten our order comes out wrong – sometimes even missing an entire sandwich. (I am actually embarrassed to admit we have patronized this shop long enough to know a statistic like that – but we will not be spending another penny here, short of someone in upper management compensating us for the disaster of awful we’ve experienced.) Speaking of which, here are just a few examples of a typical attempt to purchase from this location:
1. Service was lackluster (rude, apathetic, or flippant employees who don’t understand the phrase ‘customer service’) And the staff is constantly changing, not that the changes mean improvements of any kind.
Recently my husband got a sub there that was 1” shorter than the menu says it should be (it was so small we actually measured!). He was so shocked he looked up the actual sub specifications on the JJs website, and seeing it was so disproportionately small, he took the sub back to get a refund. After explaining the situation, the teenager at the counter just took the sub back and shrugged. No attempt to make a new one, no apology, not even an attempt to keep our business.
Today we went through the drive thru and I ordered an East Coast Italian and asked that they not skimp on anything (based on our last experience.) Order was placed and I pulled around…and then waited a solid 2 minutes before anyone appeared at the window.
When the deer-in-headlights employee arrived, he asked if I was a rewards member and I had to repeat my number for him four – I kid you not – FOUR times. After he finally entered in the number correctly, we waited about 30 seconds for him to tell me that the computer was having issues accepting our number. No problem I say, forget the rewards (There are never any decent rewards anyway – this isn’t the Firehouse across the street – the rewards here are useless at best.)
So we hand our credit card over, but apparently there were more computer issues, because the cashier calls his boss over. We waited nearly 5 MORE minutes and then finally asked for our card back because this was far from “Freaky Fast”.
The boss finally appears, and starts to check the computer and it is obviously going nowhere, so *again* we asked for our card back. (I’m thinking – you could at least apologize for the inconvenience – offer a free cookie, whatever, but no, instead the boss very rudely hands the card back (after our second request for it) and simply says, “Okay. Thanks”
No apology for the wait, no apology for the slow service, the computer delay, no offer to make things right – nothing.
Do they not realize that people who make $14 an hour are using a full HOUR of their lives to purchase this food from them? Let me ask you, is it really worth it?
Trust me, if you’re feeling like a Jimmy Johns sandwich, do yourself a favor and just drive to another location – your time and money are worth more than this place can offer, and to be honest, you’ll save your sanity, too.
Update: it is unfortunate that some of their employees are inconvenienced by customers. I ordered online and picked up at the window. After about a five minute wait for the customer in front of me, the jimmy John’s employee covering customers at the window just looked at me without saying a word. I told him I was picking up my order and gave him my name. He walked away without a word, then returned and held the bag outside the window. I told him thank you… No responses, just an unhappy frown. I didn’t get a chance to apologize for bothering him as he just walked away.
No ” thank you for visiting jimmy John’s”
No ” is there anything Else I can get you”
No ” thank you for your business”
Guess I’ll have to go across the street to Jersey Mike’s! Customers do have options!
