Thai Lao Restaurant in Myrtle Beach turned out to be a delightful surprise, especially when it came to food quality and flavor. We ordered two different varieties of fried rice along with two types of noodles, and every dish was absolutely fabulous. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. I personally loved the spice level—it had the perfect kick without overpowering the dish—and the texture of the food was spot on, making every bite satisfying.
To finish our meal, we tried the Thai donuts and the sticky rice with ice cream for dessert. Both were delicious and complemented the main dishes perfectly. The Thai donuts were light and flavorful, while the sticky rice with ice cream was refreshing and comforting at the same time.
While the ambiance of the restaurant wasn’t particularly impressive and could use some improvement, the taste and quality of the food more than made up for it. Once the dishes arrived, we honestly forgot about the surroundings and focused entirely on enjoying the meal. Overall, Thai Lao Restaurant delivers outstanding food with bold flavors and great spice, making it a must-visit spot in Myrtle Beach for anyone craving authentic Thai and Lao cuisine.

Visited with family and kids during our Myrtle Beach trip. We ordered the Massaman Curry and Vegetable Fried Rice (since there were limited vegetarian options).
• Massaman Curry: Excellent — rich, flavorful, and easily the highlight of our meal.
• Veg Fried Rice: Decent, nothing special but worked fine as a simple dish.
• Ambience: Nice and clean, though we were the only ones dining at the time, so it felt a bit quiet.
• Parking: No dedicated parking lot. We had to park on the roadside, which might be inconvenient during busy hours.
Overall, a good spot if you’re craving Thai food in Myrtle Beach, especially for the curry lovers. A few more vegetarian options and better parking would make the experience even better.

The food here is incredible! We had mango fried rice with shrimp, duck pad thai (so MUCH duck!), the dumplings melted in your mouth. The most amazing thing I’ve eaten. Everything is so FRESH. Do not second guess this place.

Genuinely some of the greatest Thai food I’ve had, and I say this as someone who travels often + my friend who recently visited Thailand enjoyed this meal more than the restaurants over there. We had pad see ewe, pad thai, and mango sticky rice. I only wish I lived in South Carolina so I could frequent this place!

This was our first time coming here and we will be back!! We love finding smaller restaurants and it is difficult in a large tourist area to find them. We stumbled upon this place while we were all hangry and arguing in the car. We were with our teenage son (if you know you know) he’s being a PITA like his life depends on it. We pull in and sit down. The menu is large and filled with TONS of options. Everyone can find something from the most basic palette to an adventurous diner. Service was friendly and the food came out SUPER quick. We all shared everything we ordered and by the time we left we were full, happy, and all back on speaking terms. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant with fresh, delicious, and authentic cuisine. Try it! You will not be disappointed. After I write this I’m checking Doordash and praying that this can go into our rotation for delivery options as well. Cheers!!

Thai Lao is walking distance from Myrtle beach activity area, about 5 minutes walk. The restaurant has nice interior with Thai vibe integrated with the appearance. The menu is huge with all sorts of well known and popular Thai dishes.
We started with the Tom yum soup with seafood. Really good soup, probably the best item of the night for me. Pad woo sen and calamari were also an excellent dish. The appetizer sampler was underwhelming, I felt the items could have been better.
The waitresses were amazing, provided a very friendly and attentive service. Dishes were served without much wait. Overall it’s a really good spot to have a good family meal.
