I spent $40… That’s forty dollars on terrible fish and more terrible chicken tenders. Food was cooked in bad oil (smell and taste) and what was supposed to be batter on the tenders looked like the chicken was dipped in water with flour in it then fried.
No flavor or at least none that I could taste. Not even salt or pepper.
I will not be going back here. Terrible.

I recently visited Chix and Fish, and I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the food. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Every bite was flavorful, and you could tell they use high-quality ingredients. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and efficient. Whether you’re craving crispy fried fish or juicy, well-seasoned chicken, this place does it right. Definitely a must-try for anyone who loves fresh, well-prepared food !

We stopped in after a hospital stay because we wanted anything other than hospital food, and when I saw “Chix” in the name, I knew it had to be good! I’m glad to report it wasn’t just good, but great

I had a fried flounder sandwich with fries, and my husband ordered the lunch shrimp combo. The breading was well seasoned, and the fish and shrimp fried perfectly to my liking. The fries aren’t salted, just a heads up in case you’re ordering for the first time or taking it to-go- but they were a great cut and again, fried to a perfect crisp on the outside while soft on the inside. Last but not least, the cole slaw: I am picky about my cole slaw, to the point I don’t even like the one I make, lol!; but I ate my cup, and then my husband’s cup, and then I wanted more! I’d make the drive from Alma just to grab a pint of that, so two thumbs up from me and more if I had them!

The server was patient and friendly while answering our questions, and offered suggestions to our meals that we both took and enjoyed. The cooks, maybe also the owners?, also had huge smiles on their faces while serving their guests.

All in all, we enjoyed everything about it and have plans to visit once they can recover from the events of Hurricane Helene. There are many items on the menu that look delicious, but the chocolate cake I passed on last time definitely looks like a reason to keep your eye on this place!

I’ve been going to this place now for a little bit and what’s kept me going. There was the rice but lately there’s been a problem after problem either I go in there and they don’t have rice or I go in there and they’re not taking card but this time around I think is my final time around going into their. I decided to try the Philly. I ordered it while in Pridgen 20 minutes later get there and they still hadn’t even started it and nobody had orders ahead of me so I waited another 15 minutes paid nine dollars for what’s currently showed in the photo absolutely ridiculous. You can’t even call this a Philly cheesesteak

I treated the establishment a 3 because the chicken and fries do not match energy. Meaning, the chicken is super delicious, crispy and crunchy. Then the fries are soggy even if you request they be fried harder. Any of the meat options are awesome. But the sides….are iffy or hit and miss.

We had the 3 chicken fingers and flounder and 5 chicken fingers. This place has great portions and very good food. It’s a bit tough to find a place to park, but it’s worth it. I was quite surprised with the portions as they were big for the price.
If it had to say something negative it would be that the hot sauce portions are way to small. I also had to ask for plastic silverware.

We got a 10 piece shrimp with Cajun rice and drink for $6.99. It was so good that my old man went again without me the next day to try the wings. They’re also a $6.99 lunch special. He said they were the best he’s tried in a long time. Believe me, that’s saying something!

The service was great, the cashier was so nice. The food was fresh and delicious. The cost for the portion is very reasonable. The manager was there and was making jokes, it was cool. It was a very nice experience. If I’m in Douglas again I will definitely get something from Chix and Fish. The lemon pepper wings were amazing!
