The staff greeted me like I was a long-lost cousin at a family reunion (the kind you actually want to see). I ordered a classic Rudy Dog with everything on it. When they say “everything,” they mean it. The sauce is key here—it’s so good, I’d put it on just about anything.
The hotdog itself? Perfectly steamed and nestled in a soft bun, just the way hotdogs should be. Add a little mustard for taste, and you’ve got a flavor explosion that’ll have you dreaming about your next visit. The chili and onions were piled high—my shirt barely survived the experience. (Pro tip: napkins are your best friend here! )
The fries? Let’s just say my diet plans are now somewhere at the bottom of Lake Erie. Worth it.
If you’re in Toledo and don’t stop at Rudy’s, your taste buds will file a formal complaint. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a mustard stain on my shirt as a badge of honor. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rudy’s: Come for the hotdogs, stay for the memories…and maybe a second hotdog.
Good hearty food at a fair price.

I was surprised and happy when they responded to my review. I cannot wait to go to Rudy’s the next time I go to Toledo! I am raising my rating because I love Rudy’s…. and I know it will be better the next time I eat there. Thank you!

Original Review: I was in town for the weekend. 47 years ago, I moved from Toledo. Ever time I came back, I stopped and ate at Rudy’s. I love Rudy’s! BUT this time was different. To begin with the Rudy’s that I remember is gone. We went to the Rudy’s on Monroe. The service was great.. but the food was not the same. The buns were too big (too much bread) and not steamed. The chili did not taste the same… And there was no atmosphere. Hopefully they change it to make it more like the original Rudy’s… because I love Rudy’s!!!
The French fries are some of the best I’ve ever had, and although the decor is outdated, it brings back childhood memories. Very clean and very good food. I always try to stop in here when i’m up this way, highly recommended.
By the time we was told we could pay, the food was hardly warm and almost every table had a tray with food that was not bussed yet and still dirty and in an out dated restaurant you think they would keep it clean so with a horrible atmosphere and food that was not “hot or fresh” and no hospitality just employees giving a blank awkward stare there is literally no reason to go back!!
I ordered a gyro with extra sauce didn’t get any sauce!
Called to let them know was put on hold to speak with a manager (Kylie) she told me that she would write my name down so I can get a remake of the sandwich on my future order! Called back 3 days later! For someone to tell me they don’t take names down and that Kylie is not a manager and they can’t do anything about it!
