When I order a crab cake, I expect it to actually contain crab. Instead, I was served two jumbo crab cakes that were almost entirely bread with little to no crab at all. Honestly, they might as well have given me four slices of bread, because that is all it tasted like.
If the restaurant could not make proper crab cakes, they should have either made them smaller, charged more, or been upfront about what was being served. Charging $30 for bread filled crab cakes is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the broccoli had an unpleasant smell and was not enjoyable.
I called to speak with a manager, who told me this is simply how they make their crab cakes and that if I wanted a real crab cake, it would cost $60. Price is not the issue. I am not willing to pay $30 for something that is misleading and poorly prepared. The manager said there was nothing he could do to resolve the issue.
Because the restaurant refused to offer a refund or any resolution, I am now disputing the charge with my bank.
You can tell it’s family-owned in the best way: the service feels personal, friendly, and consistent. Our kids love it here—especially Uncle Jimmy, who always makes them feel special. Highly recommend.
First issue: My friend ordered the pepper steak, but was given the beef stew. We were told that the cook can’t read English well, and that’s what he made instead. There was no effort to remake what he actually ordered, and he was forced to eat the beef stew, which was flavorless. The only effort that was made to rectify the issue, was a offer of a free dessert. We than overheard the waitress tell the manager, “You can tell when you can get over on a customer by the first interaction”
Second issue: I ordered the Gyro, which is supposed to come with tzatziki sauce, when it arrived, it was no where to be found. Minutes later it was brought out in a side dish. If I wanted the sauce on the side, I would’ve asked for it.
All in all it was a horrible experience. This place use to be okay! But has gone down hill.
I went for the Country Omelet, which the menu claimed was made with two eggs, but I’d wager they snuck in a third. It was generously stuffed with onions, tomato, ham, sausage, and bacon—essentially a breakfast sampler folded into one fluffy parcel. The toast came on the side, along with a mountain of home fries that could’ve fed a small scout troop. It was hearty, satisfying, and just chaotic enough to feel authentic.
The diner wasn’t particularly busy, so the lapses in service were a bit puzzling. Coffee refills were slow, and the toast arrived cold as evidenced by the unmelted butter still spread on top. Still, we weren’t in a rush, and the main dishes hit the spot. It wasn’t perfect, but it was warm, filling, and gave Mrs. K. a taste of the regional diner experience. Quirks and all.
Don’t hesitate in trying their food. You won’t regret it!
I had the French toast, eggs over medium and bacon.
The french toast was fluffy and just delicious point blank. They have whipped butter which really added to the flavor of the French toast too. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon was exactly what you should expect. Crispy and flavorful. I tried a bit of my husband’s home fries and they were very good.
My husband had the hungry man’s meal and he devoured every bit that he could. He also said it’s everything he could have hoped for in a breakfast.
My mother had the cream chip beef, home fries and poached eggs.
I didn’t get a picture of her meal but I wish I had. I don’t even like cream chip beef but it look delicious.
She really enjoyed it. She ate down the entire thing.
My son had the wings which also came with a salad. They too looked and smelled absolutely scrumptious. I didn’t get a picture of his wings because he started right in on them. And he said they were so good.
Everything we all had was just absolutely satisfying and filling. They’re a little pricey but so so so worth it. Who ever their cook is needs a raise immediately. Excellent food. We got delivery and it was still fresh and hot on arrival. So kudos the the establishment and our dasher.
