Tasty, fast, affordable, and comforting. In all honesty I didnt have high hopes because my burrito standards are pretty high, but I really enjoyed my super wet burrito (meat & bean).
Is this where I would go if I wanted a burrito? No.
Is it satisfying like a warm hug from your grandma? Yes.
I didnt grow up in GR, but I can see why this place conjures nostalgia. Great place to go when you’ve had bad day and you just need to feel taken care of.

We hadn’t been to Taco Boy in over 10 years, since we moved to Georgia. It’s nice to know that some things never change.
Patti took our order and she was great. The cooks were great. The food was great, even the hats and T-shirts they sell were great!
I had to rub it in my friend’s face that we were able to eat here because he lives in Tennessee now. He’s the one who introduced us to Taco Boy over 15 years ago.

The most amazing food around! I have not found a better taco and their homemade salsa is to die for!

I love their wet burritos. I can order it the way I like it with no problem. Their tex/mex flour tortilla tacos are great. I love the seasoning they put in their ground beef taco meat. It reminds me of the way ole tacos used to make theirs. I love the red sauce on their wet burritos and their mild taco sauce. Even when they are busy their pretty quick at getting you your order. Their organized when it comes to that and they are friendly in their service to you.

Worst taco Ive ever had. The meat was flavorless wet cardboard. Do not see any reason why someone would eat there. I’d rather go to Taco Bell. Plainfield location around 12:30… 1:00.

Food is good but prices have gone way up. Tiny side of rice (maybe 1/4 cup?) for $3.50. The styrofoam cup was < half full. Don't even bother ordering this side; it's only a couple of bites; totally skimpy portion. Place is filthy, tables are squeaky and rickety. This just isn't worth it anymore. Sad, really.

We got takeout and ate in car due to very busy before noon. Lots of hard working construction workers eat here, very nice crowd. Got our food in the time it takes to fill 2 fountain drinks. Tacos are to die for!! Rice and beans are also very good!! Try to go there once a week!!

I have not been here in 25 years… but I felt like it was just yesterday. The food tasted like a perfect childhood memory. The faces, although new, were like family I have not seen in years. I introduced my wife to Taco Boy, and she said.. “This is the best taco meat I have ever had.” Thanks for just being stable, trustworthy, and delicious.

100% pure, proud gringo here. Grew up in Lansing with Mr. Taco. When I’m in Mt. Pleasant, or Grand Rapids, Taco Boy is a MUST destination. It’s just good, comforting, gringo smash food. Probably what Taco Bell was 60 years ago before it became machine made, laboratory…….stuff?
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and was happy to see them absolutely SLAMMED! Still was in and out (sat and ate) in 15 minutes. Very Satisfied. Thanks again, TACO BOY !

Hadn’t eaten here in almost 2 years but had an appointment nearby so I stopped in for a Super half pound burrito and tostada. First the burrito. One it definitely was NOT a super burrito anymore. Even their regular burritos were bigger than this thing when I was a regular. Almost no cheese, the lettuce looked weird like it was old and wilted. And the meat? paste definitely tasted off again like it was old or something. After about 1/2 of it I trashed the rest. After considering it this reminded me of this disgusting frozen pre cooked taco meat a friend bought at Gordon foods for a potluck. The regular tostada was slightly better looking. Hard to skimp on the toppings when they are visible but I still had to pull out a bunch of pieces of wilted icky lettuce like you can see on top in the picture. And after a couple bites of “chewy” iceberg lettuce I tossed it as well. Overall this visit didn’t trigger the nostalgia. It triggered my ick reflex and guarantees that this is my last visit ever. I should have eaten at Arby’s next door would have been cheaper and maybe would have been real meat. Now I have to hit a gas station for a beverage to try and get these weird tastes out of my mouth. Ohh and they STILL have the $15 canvas bags.
Had to stop here for a friend even though I still avoid patronizing them. And I saw something absolutely hilarious I had to share. They are charging $15 for a cloth tote bag you can have custom printed for like $2 each on many advertising merchandise sites. But what can you expect from a restaurant that charges 30¢ for each 8¢ mild sauce packet after the first one.
As with others I’ve been eating at Taco Boy for years. They used to have so many locations. And have always been a fan of Taco boy. The food is really good. And I understand some price increases as food costs rise.
But their rating gets dropped because the owners have started nickel and dime you, like Adobe. I can understand some price increases as food costs rise. But 25¢ for a mild sauce packet? 79¢ for a little cup of hot sauce? Even Adobe only wants 45¢ for an extra hot sauce. I can understand excessive requests but 1 extra sauce…I had them take it off.
Also I think it’s my last visit. As the employees not realizing I was sitting around the corner decided to disparage me for requesting it be removed after they thought the store was empty. I’ll give my business elsewhere. Maybe check before talking about someone behind their back. Especially since I was always friendly and courteous to them. And I patronized the restaurant a lot.
