I love this place. Big portions, delicious food, coco bread is to die for (so soft). Entrees come with cabbage and rice and beans in good portion. One entree can be two meals id you want. When I want less food a pattie or two is the way to go (I have *occasionally* gotten a dry one, but not often enough to keep me from getting them), when I want to treat myself I get a piece of the rum cake. Thats always so delicious, so moist, and also a generous cut. I would eat here all the time if I were walking distance.

I’ve been happily supporting this business for longer than I can count. I live in dc now but still place orders weekly with knowing each delivery is 60+min wait, no problem. Last week, I noticed the carrot cake tasted stale or like a plastic container. This week I see why…..the cakes aren’t stored or thrown out properly. The cake I ordered yesterday is moldy. I’m not sure how much I’ve already eaten. I’m disappointed but not mad because my heart has been telling me to just eat at home from now on. Times are hard, businesses are trying to conserve food, people are at work stressed….with that being said that was my final order, I can’t trust the conditions of the poultry I order here….

For this to have been uber eats the presentation, the amount of food, and the taste were all five stars! Probably the best Caribbean I’ve had in Maryland and now I don’t have to drive all the way to Jerk at Nite in DC. We ordered beef patties, curry chicken and curry goat. Meat was tender. The sauce and cabbage were flavorful. They even packaged the curry chicken sauce in a separate container.

The food is always fresh and tasty! I loved getting the beef patties and oxtail platter. I gave 4 starts instead of 5 because I do feel the oxtail sauce is missing a kick of spice but other than that I will forever be a repeat customer!

I was told about Negril as a good place for Jamaican food in Montgomery County and finally made the trip. Note, one of my parents is Jamaican so the cuisine is very familiar to me.
Negril I think has multiple locations. The Silver Spring location seems to be more grab and go with a few tables to eat in. As first try I decided to just get a couple patties and a slice of rum cake. The patties have nice crispy crusts but are notably thin on the fillings. I’m not sure about the other desserts but save your money and avoid the rum cake – it tasted like a slice of cake mix cake with barely any hint of rum.

If you’re in a hurry or looking for great food this is not your place. The food is ok at best. The person taking your order is always pleasant. After that it’s all downhill. Don’t try and call in your order either as that feels like a good 20 minutes iof your time as you’re constantly being placed on hold and don’t expect the person answering the phone to be pleasant either. The online ordering system will send you to DoorDash or some other service and that’s extra. All in all the service very very slow and the food is ok at best.
