Friendly staff food came out in a short amount of time .
Highly recommended and super affordable also allows to take out options .
My wife and I were on the hunt for a new breakfast spot, and after a bit of a drive from Coral Springs to Pompano, we stumbled upon a true hidden gem. At first glance, the unassuming shopping plaza location made us second-guess our choice, but the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special.
The restaurant’s atmosphere was a nostalgic throwback to the 80s, with cozy booths and simple tables that felt both retro and welcoming. The decor might not win any modern design awards, but it added a charming, down-to-earth vibe that grew on us quickly. The background music, a mix of blues and Marvin Gaye-style tunes, set the perfect mood for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
We were greeted by a friendly waitress with a warm Southern accent who told us to sit wherever we liked. Her hospitality was just the beginning of what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. The staff throughout the restaurant were all smiles, making us feel right at home.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because that’s where this place truly shines. My wife ordered the fish and grits, and I went for the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and cheese. The portions were generous, and every bite was packed with flavor. My wife’s fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and tender, paired with creamy, well-seasoned grits. My corned beef hash was hearty and savory, with the scrambled eggs adding a comforting touch. Despite the rising prices of groceries these days, the meal felt like an incredible value for the quality and quantity we received.
By the time we finished, we were both thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit. This restaurant may not win you over with its decor, but the classic, delicious food, excellent pricing, and genuinely friendly staff make it a standout. If you’re in the area and looking for a breakfast spot that feels like home, don’t hesitate to give this place a try. We’ll definitely be back!
My wife loves the waffles to the point of addiction. They’re infused with crunchy bits of pearl sugar that delight her to no end. And though I’m not usually a fan of sweet breakfast foods, I’ll admit to enjoying the bites she shares with me quite a bit. If you can recommend a breakfast pastry 12-step program for us I’d appreciate it.
I’m more a fan of the savory, and their grill has been blessed with years of seasoning to produce truly delicious food. Their salmon and grits stand out as particularly outstanding, but I’ve also enjoyed shrimp, sausage, pork chops, and liver immensely. They do eggs really well, too, and their biscuits and gravy are a thing of beauty.
The environment is really comfortable. The clientele is as diverse as the Olympic games; it truly is a cross-section of the South Florida population. The decor might be described as “dated” by young whippersnappers, but that’s just because they don’t understand how awesome the ’80s were. And the staff are truly a delight — warm, welcoming, and very patient.
In summary, A+, 5 stars awesome. Go there now!!
The biscuits and gravy are a must try. That gravy was so good. I would buy it if it came in a jar. I got the cornbeef hash with eggs. I liked the dish. I saw other items that looked just as good to oder. I will order them next time, like the shrimp and grits.
My family and I came back on Wednesday and our server was Tre. He was absolutely amazing. Thank you all. We go back to Atlanta in the morning.
