We visited Granite City in Eagan for their Valentine’s Day four-course special, and overall it turned out to be a very positive experience and a good value.
The restaurant has a bar-and-grill atmosphere, which makes sense given the brewery focus. It felt lively but still comfortable for a holiday dinner, and the menu offered several appealing choices both for the special and on the regular menu.
We started with shrimp, which was cooked properly and had a good texture—firm and enjoyable without any rubbery or off-putting qualities. The French onion soup was a comforting course and fit the meal well. For the main, I ordered the burger, which was solid and satisfying. While not flashy, it was well prepared and enjoyable. A standout side was the sweet potato fries, which were exceptionally crisp with just the right amount of salt—easily some of the best I’ve had in a while.
The dessert rounded out the meal nicely and completed the four-course experience. Nothing during the meal disappointed me; everything we had was good and well executed.
Service was pleasant and professional. Our server was friendly and attentive, though the kitchen timing was a bit slow. We did notice that a few tables seated after us received their food sooner, but it wasn’t enough to detract significantly from the overall experience.
At $69 for a four-course Valentine’s Day meal, the special felt like a good deal, offering variety and solid quality without feeling overpriced. Overall, Granite City delivered a comfortable, enjoyable holiday dinner with reliable food and good value.

First time trying this place with a friend. They were all booked on a Saturday night, so glad we had reservations! Ordered a Ribeye with a house salad added. Steak could’ve been more tender, but was well seasoned and good nonetheless. The house salad was terrific – liked the pickled onions in it! Service was great and overall a very positive experience and would recommend it to others as it was to us!

I have not been to Granite City for several years and was invited to join some friends. Their Happy Hour and appetizers are amazing! We stayed for dinner and the menu has been updated with several new dishes. The food was very good and our server (Denny) was outstanding! I wish all servers had his qualities!

Absolutely terrible service. I went here with my family tonight and our server was Celia. She never checked on us after we ordered, our entrées and starters came out at the same time 20-30 minutes after we got there, and we had a our complete table filled with food since our starters did not come sooner, and our entrées came the same time. Our kids juices did not come, when asked and finally brought over to us, the lid was not on all of the way and it immediately spilled as soon as we got it. We searched for someone to help and ended up asking another server for napkins but was completely ignored. We had a table next to us feel bad enough to offer up their napkins, thankfully. At that point my toddler, the table, and our booth seat was all wet. We had an extra change of clothes for her, thankfully, but the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting trying to change her in them. When we finally got our server to come over and explained what happened, she brushed it off. My toddler wasn’t able to have any of her juice because it spilt or her meal at that point because there was still juice all over. After the awful service we had, we ended up getting our check and leaving. Will not come here again.

Edit to add that I used a gift card from my family for my meals.

I ordered 2 steak entrees for my birthday, and at least the first one was… half inedible. 2/5 ⭐️ based off of just the first steak meal (I am saving the other one for another day).

The mashed potatoes were grainy and tasted like I was eating straight jarred garlic and they were also very loose (like a lake instead of a mound in the container). I can’t even cook, but I’m pretty sure I could make better mashed potatoes

The steak wasn’t bad, it was medium rare like I ordered, but it was kinda tough. The asparagus was pretty good, probably the highlight of the meal.

At 9:30 pm (ish) there wasn’t many people dining. I ordered online for pickup, it took me about 15 minutes to get there, and I had to sit and wait for my order to finish (there was a bit of a wait between my arrival and when I was given my order). The only employee I could see during the time I was there handed the bag over and was fairly nice.

Overall when I compare this location to the Fargo one, I’d choose Fargo any day as I enjoyed the same steak meal there much more.

We just finished eating at Granite City Food & Brewery, and throughout our time there, a few things stood out that made this place somewhere I would eat again. Peter, who this time was our waiter, represented their customer service well, always coming back to see if we had questions and willing to make us his top priority. He was respectful, always smiling, and had a positive attitude that showed he wanted to be there. Other staff members came to check on us throughout our meal, and it was clear that their team loves working together to make both their and the customers’ time enjoyable. Again, I highly recommend eating here, and we will definitely be coming back with Peter as our waiter!

We went on Saturday for the half priced starters
City wings with bbq, and chicken nuggets with fries. Both excellent, plenty of chicken left for another meal. Tap beer and seltzer for $3 great deal too. Busy today, a little short staffed, so a little longer wait from the kitchen. Wait staff are always friendly. Lots of free parking. No steps. Lots of tables so handicapped accessible for wheelchair. A little noisy for me, otherwise a great spot.

Ordered takeout and I feel bad that my family spent money on gift cards from this place. $2 up-charge for a meager amount of asparagus with tough, inedible stems and a soaked-bread sandwich all packed into the same container. I shouldn’t have to specify separate containers for this order.

We met family for Sunday brunch buffet. There was a large selection/variety of items. Some were good, some not so good. The prime rib was fatty, so chewy I ended spitting out a few bites. One bite of ravioli was more than enough, yuck. The cheesy eggs, bacon, French toast and cinnamon rolls were good. The waitress was friendly, but very slow to refill beverages. We’d probably go back, but not for the buffet.
