Billy’s Burgers brings all-American nostalgia back to Jackson with its reopening June 28 at The Virginian Lodge. Conveniently located on Broadway, Billy’s counter service menu features the famous half-pound burgers and classic sandwiches, original waffle fries, soft serve ice cream, and a few surprises. The original town square Billy’s (inside the former Cadillac Grille) was modeled after a 1950s-style diner. The modern Billy’s retains that classic diner feel with checkerboard floor, original neon sign, a small dine-in counter, and cozy booths in the adjacent dining room. Eat inside in the family dining room, settle in with your order at the lively Virginian Saloon or take the fun outside to the seasonal front patio or inviting courtyard.

You’ll totally leave Billy’s place confused AND poorer, because this IS proof that you can put an $18 price tag on a $3 burger. Yep. McDonald’s could do just that and be the second Billy’s. Not generally disgusting, but definitely not my standard.
We literally paid $75 for three ‘basic-as-they -make-em’ cheese burgers in the meal, yet real insult was the 2lbs of fries. I haven’t had that gross of fries in forever. Apparently, these guys don’t care to serve a few lbs of chilled rubber-flavored “fries” to people.
This place is literally quantity over any and all qualities.
For $75? Tell me that’s a good deal without telling me that’s a good deal.
I will never go back to say the least.

My husband and I both got Billy’s burger. The patty tasted great but wish the bun could be toasted or served warmer. Fries are not soggy which was great but a bit salty. Overall, not bad.

Clean place inside the hotel, plenty of inside dining and some outside with tables with umbrellas. The burger was good but not exceptional, but the ranch dressing was very different so stick with the house dressing.

The burgers are solid. Nothing fufu, just a solid down home burger w/ fries to match. Both burgers were cooked to perfection (med rare).
All I could think about was the oh so famous line from Jules in Pulp Fiction, “that is a tasty burger.”

The burgers and fries were great. Other’s in our group said the wings and cheesesteak were really good.
They have a dedicated fryer so the fries can be made gluten free! They also offer a good gluten free bun. (Photo is the gluten free Billy’s Burger)

Food was greasy, and everything was spicy. I wanted the old 50’s atmosphere. It was only in the lobby. The food was more Mexican American than classic American. Would not recommend .

Staying at the RV park attached to the Virginian and wandered into the bar to have a drink and something to eat. Billy’s Burgers is in the hotel so we placed our order at the bar. I got the pulled pork po boy and my husband got the cheesesteak. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious! I was skeptical of the po boy because it had red onion, tomato, lettuce and pickles and I didn’t think those things would compliment the pulled pork but oh boy was I wrong. The flavors of everything meshed so well and the fresh crunch of the bread made it a really memorable sandwich. My husband really enjoyed his cheesesteak (coming from a Philadelphian that says a lot). The meat was flavorful and plentiful. Definitely worth a trip.
