Old West-style steakhouse chain known for its burgers & chops made from bison.

We were there for dinner. It was my first time here in the restaurant. We had house salad & grilled shrimp for appetizers. I had delmonico bison ribeye & my friend had brick oven chicken plate. My first time ever having bison steaks. Very lean and loved the medium well steak. My friend loved her chicken plate. We finished our dinner with apple pie & vanilla ice cream.
Our server was Luis. He provided a phenomenal service. I will certainly recommend this place to family and friends.

The food was awful. I ordered a salad with well-cooked salmon and received a salad that looked bad 55 minutes later, with raw salmon. We waited 45 minutes for a table, and I don’t understand why there were so many empty tables. The place was dirty, then we waited over 50 minutes for the food to arrive. All the dishes were cold and looked bad, and the salmon was raw. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Monday 9/22/26 2:30 pm restaurant totally dead. (should’ve gotten attentive service) that wasn’t the case. We ordered a burger with fries and a salad with salmon took forever to get our food. our waitress Hannah kept doing a disappearing act. fries came out cold we asked to have the fries remade. Jason The kitchen manager decided that it was a good idea to take the same fries and refried them. Now we have dehydrated fries that are warm. Asked if the salmon was even cooked on a cedar plank as it had no cedar flavor. Hannah couldn’t answer that question she didn’t know whether it was cooked in a cedar plank or how. She agreed that the fries were refried. Jason was so kind as to take the burger off the bill but would not come out to talk to us about the horrible meal and slow service. Therefore this forum will do. By the way there was one other table in that restaurant. We got there around 2:30. We left at 3:30 the only people in the restaurant the entire time was our table and another table. why was the service and the food so bad? So disappointed!! Ted, do better.

We used to love Ted’s Montana Grill — it was a mainstay for us before COVID. The cozy atmosphere and aesthetic were always a big part of the draw. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a shocking disappointment.
I ordered the Delmonico ribeye (about 1/2 inch thick) for $42. For that price, I expected something memorable. Instead, the steak was thin, unimpressive, and honestly something I could have prepared better at home. For the same cost, I can buy two 1.5″ thick ribeyes at Costco and cook them to perfection myself. That’s probably what I’ll do next time.
To make matters worse, when my wife opened her utensils, her fork still had food stuck to it — completely unwashed. That’s simply unacceptable at any restaurant, much less one charging these kinds of prices.
The quality and quantity of food used to be so much better here. Sadly, it feels like standards have slipped in both the kitchen and service. We honestly feel we could have gotten cleaner silverware and better quality food at Chili’s for a third of the cost.
We left very sad and disappointed. Ted’s used to be a reliable, cozy spot for us, but after this experience, we won’t be returning.

The food was scrumptious and the atmosphere awesome. Unfortunately, my wife’s seared but bloody steak had to be refired, and, although the place was empty, our waiter was no where to be seen when our drinks ran dry. But alas, my wife’s steak came back perfect and my Canyon burger was delicious, as was the garlic mashed potatoes.
A special hats off to Ted Turner, who has protected the buffalo and wilderness, restoring the herds to help achieve their former glory. I will return to eat more of his juicy burgers, the next of which will be topped with chilli. Dispite the undercooked steak (she did order it medium rare) and delayed refills, I highly recommend the Avalon-Alpharetta location. We felt it was a cut above the other steak restaurants who charge and arm and a leg for a decent meal.

The buffalo brisket that I had wasn’t what I thought of when I ordered it. It came out similar to a pot roast style. While it had good flavor it was dry even covered in gravy. The service was great. They let us know up front the grill wasn’t working and there were limited choices they could provide on the menu. This was my first time going to Ted’s Montana grill. The onion rings were amazing with the horseradish ranch dipping sauce definitely a must try. And the apple crisp desert. Was also very tasty.

Waitress was awesome! Food terrible! Our youngest is 7 and got food poisoning from the under cooked salmon, started throwing up at midnight. Everyone’s food was cold. This was not a Ted’s experience! No care from the manager at all.

A wonderful lunch experience with friends yesterday. Bison burgers were great and cooked to perfection. Apple crisp dessert was yummy. Server was very sweet and attentive. Couldn’t have asked for better treatment by server and staff.

Last couple times I’ve visited a Ted’s I’ve been disappointed. Tonight was the same. We got seated right away, and had to flag down someone to take our drink order after probably 8-10 minutes. Then it took another 8-10 to get the 1 beer we ordered. My husband ordered a side salad and said he wanted it brought out first. It arrived 30 seconds before the meal. Hamburgers were lukewarm warm, brocolli was hard, and very disappointed. Then felt rushed to leave, and even though every time they visited table they said “we aren’t rushing you”. Last visit for a while.

I ordered the crab cake meal for $37 and the food had a horrible stench as soon as it arrived. I reluctantly took a few bites, hoping it was just my imagination, but it was so bad I ended up covering the plate with multiple napkins. The restaurant was very busy and our server was kind and attentive, so I didn’t want to make a scene or complain at the time.
I should have trusted my instincts, because I am now terribly sick. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone thought it was acceptable to serve that dish, let alone charge that much for what essentially turned into food poisoning. The audacity is unreal. Disgusting is an understatement.
The only positive thing I can say is that the margaritas were good. Please do better.
