The food here was way better than expected just because people have told me it’s a chain and it’s whatever. The food here proved me wrong in my thoughts. Started off with the Jose Quesadillas. The mix in there with pineapple, chicken, adobo… they were really flavorful. Also got the queso fundido, which was polished off quickly. Was great. For the main meal I got the Quesabirria. These were delicious. The rice was nice and the street corn was incredible. I got the borrego to go. It was a good piece of goat that was cooked and seasoned nicely. I also got the Torta San Jose Vapor, which was just ok. I wasn’t a huge fan of this dish. But it was fine. I would recommend this place.

Such a fun restaurant with delicious margaritas, friendly and attentive staff, and great food! Probably our favorite restaurant in Holly Springs! When you sit down you immediately get chips, salsa, and water – the margaritas are large and amazing! The chicken enchiladas are fantastic!

The last time we went, 4 waiters checked if we wanted more chips! We thought that was very sweet

Mi Cancun in Morrisville did not begin as my first choice. In fact, my final conscious thought before arrival was “Anywhere but Ajuma.” I had my heart set on a Mediterranean or H Mart food court adventure, but democracy, fickle as it is, failed me. A tie breaking coin flip sealed my fate, and I found myself stepping into the brightly colored, Mexican beach themed interior of Mi Cancun.

I wasn’t entirely unfamiliar. I’ve had the tacos at one of their Cary locations before. They were good and satisfying, but at the time they lacked the char and streetwise authenticity of the food truck tacos I often graze upon while loitering in gas station parking lots. Expectations, therefore, were measured.

To my pleasant surprise, there was no wait. Our party of twelve was seated promptly, an impressive feat for a busy Sunday lunchtime at such a popular spot. Iced water with lemon arrived quickly, and service continued to distinguish itself in thoughtful ways. Most notably, the staff graciously honored a friend’s customs by serving him warm water, an accommodation rarely offered at a Mexican restaurant. It was a small gesture, but one that spoke volumes about attentiveness and respect.

I briefly flirted with the idea of a 3.99 Sunday house margarita, but a combination of post church restraint and one dining companion’s previous night overindulgence thwarted my plans. Still, I drank with my eyes, gazing longingly at the machines behind the bar, churning luminous green and gold margaritas, promising a perfectly oxygenated blend of lime and agave bliss.

The menu at Mi Cancun is expansive, offering everything from tacos and burritos to fajitas, rice dishes, and an array of tempting sides. Acting on the recommendation of a particularly delightful and knowledgeable dining companion, I ordered the ACP, and I’m glad I did. The grilled chicken breast was cooked just right, juicy and well seasoned, far from dry. The rice leaned slightly salty, but paired with warm flour tortillas, the balance worked beautifully.

Another standout was the chips and salsa. Endless, generous, and thoughtfully executed with individual bowls of red salsa for each diner, allowing full customization and guilt free double dipping. I was already approaching fullness before the entrée even arrived, which is never a bad problem to have.

If there is one area for improvement, it would be the men’s restroom. One stall door refused to close completely, requiring one of my dining companions to stand guard like a vigilant sentinel gazelle at a watering hole, ever alert to approaching danger. Not ideal, but memorable nonetheless.

In the end, Mi Cancun delivers a solid, reliable dining experience. The lunch menu offers real value, around 11 dollars and some change with tax before tip, the flavors are satisfying, and the service is thoughtful. I would absolutely return, especially to finally indulge in those margaritas I was forced to admire from afar.

Mi Cancun may not have been my original destination, but it proved itself a worthy one.

I personally love Mexican food and Mi Cancun Mexican restaurant was just amazing. I visited their Chapel Hill branch and the food did not disappoint. The service was quick and the food was served fresh. We ordered two dishes, one with jumbo shrimp and the other with grilled chicken. Both of them were delicious. The portions were great for the price. Definitely a go to Mexican place!!

We had a party of 11…the Margaritas and food were excellent, (I had the mango margarita… So good, and I very rarely ever have an drink) however, the service was subpar, but it was a very busy night, loud, and we had a large party, so I will definitely give them more chances!

The corn was very, very yummy, as was the chicken enchilada with Verde sauce, the black beans and rice was very good, especially when I added extra sour cream, and the chips and salsa were a hit among the table! The only complaint was the service. It was fast, but we weren’t getting what we asked for. For example, I ordered black beans and rice and only got the black beans. I ordered extra sour cream and didn’t get any sour cream. They fixed the problem immediately, though. The food was so good that I look forward to going back many times!

Wow. If you like Mexican this is a must try restaurant. Victor the manager was very accommodating and friendly. The place in general is clean with friendly staff. Now the food is incredible. The margaritas were loaded with tequila and not sugary and they were on special for $3.99. We had fresh guacamole at the table with warm nachos and cheese dip to start. I had the steak, shrimp, and chicken fajatitas. They were delicious. Meat was tender and it was not drenched in oil! Corn tortillas were hand made very fresh. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. My boyfriend had Pozole which is an authentic Mexican dish consisting of tender beef, instead of pork, with hominy corn very tender and unbelievably flavorful. A piece of home in Morrisville, NC! Best Mexican we have had in NC! Presentation of food and drinks was also tastefully done. A must try!

I love Mexican food. I have been here before but this time was different. When being seated, the floor was sticky. Yes maybe the cleaning solution wasn’t diluted correctly, idk. Sat down and was putting my bag down and saw a baby bug on the wall moving to the table behind us. Against my better judgment, I didn’t leave. It was late on a Sunday and mostly everything was closed. Order our food, what I ate was good but in the back of my mind I was uneasy. When my son got a refill he did not remove his straw and it came back with gunk. It was over. Probably won’t go back which is sad cause it’s pretty good.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night and was seated immediately. The chips and salsa were very good and very free which rocked. The salsa was delicious and the chips were hot. We ordered the steak enchiladas and this dish was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant like this. The steak was cooked so perfectly and the rice and beans were not the typical greasy consistency which was nice. The margarita was pretty good and the 22 oz beer was as well. They have decent prices for drinks but their food items are a little bit pricier but they make up for it in their quality. The vibes inside the space are really great and the staff is super friendly and fun.

It is our first time trying Mi Cancun. We order 2 drinks, the drink has good flavor, however the ice was not blended well so as you are drinking through the straw, the ice often clog up the straw. The tacos and the Fajita were average, nothing that makes it stand out. The dessert was also average, the flan’s texture isn’t as smooth as other flans I have tried. Overall it was okay.
