Wow absolutely outstanding! This is hands down the best buffet I have experienced anywhere in the world. The made-to-order lobster was exceptional, with no limit on how many you can enjoy. The pepper lobster was my personal favorite. You can also order mud crab cooked to order; we had it Singapore-style, and it was well worth the wait.
The steak selection was high quality and cooked perfectly. Another major highlight was the sashimi bar, our group went back for three to four rounds of the tuna and salmon, which were incredibly fresh, smooth, and flavorful.
We dined as a group of six, and at $73 USD per person, the value was outstanding well beyond what we expected. If you’re visiting Saigon, this buffet is an absolute must-stop.

La Brasserie is one of the well-known buffets in Ho Chi Minh City, so I went in with pretty high expectations. I was genuinely excited to finally try it. The overall presentation of the food was impressive—everything looked fresh, colorful, and delicious. My husband enjoyed the meal a lot and had a great experience with the seafood and carving stations.

Unfortunately, my experience didn’t go as well. I must have gotten a bad piece of seafood, and I ended up with food poisoning. I felt sick almost immediately, threw up at the restaurant, and continued to throw up again after getting home. It was definitely disappointing and not what I expected from such a reputable buffet.

On the positive side, the staff were extremely kind and helpful. They assisted me right away and checked on me multiple times, which I really appreciated.

Because I felt unwell, I was only able to try the Wagyu steak and a few seafood items. The Wagyu was tender and flavorful, and the seafood selection looked great overall. For the price, I think you generally get what you pay for, and I can see why many people enjoy dining here.

I hope I can come back in the future and have a better experience, because the buffet itself seems promising—it was just unfortunate timing for me.

The food was good overall. We went there with high expectations. The foie gras and its sauce were flavorful, braised pork was also really good. However, the sushi and sashimi section was very minimal, not much to choose from.

On the downside, the grilled lobster was a bit dry and the wagyu was a bit plain. They completely forgot our crabs, we had to remind them 2 times, by the time the crabs came to the table, we were already full and ready for our desserts.

Staffing problem. One of our servers doesn’t speak English nor Vietnamese. She couldn’t tell us what drinks they serve. She ended up asking another server to come help.

With the whole ocean at your fingertips, it’s difficult to hold back the saliva drooling from my mouth and from over-indulging. As you’re being taken to your seat, your eyes can’t help but peel away towards the dazzling selection of Western and Vietnamese appetizers, including a giant cheese wheel for a bite of freshly minced tuna tartare. The festivities truly started at your seat, as you place an order for the six different flavours of lobster and crab, coming straight off the grill and straight to your seat. The flesh was bouncy and sweet, the fresh lobster being complemented with my favourite sweet and savory tamarind sauce. They also had Wagyu beef flying off the pan, instantly melting away on your tongue like warm butter. It was a shame that each person was allotted ONE slice of lobster sashimi, because I wouldn’t have minded getting 20 more slices of its pure, sweet taste and bouncy bite. Finally, the saccharine spectacle that sits before you will awaken your crustacean-filled palate once again. The moist berry cake, tangy passionfruit mousse and chewy Vietnamese sticky rice were the most memorable, besides the almond ice cream that tastes like crayons (love genetics).

The buffet is priced at 1.9M VND per person and the seafood performance did not justify the premium. The lobster was dried out and overcooked, and the seasoning did not soak in well. The crab was decent, while the wagyu beef and fresh juices were the strongest items of the night, but overall the food quality felt uneven for the cost.

Service was fine and the staff moved efficiently, but nothing stood out in a way that elevated the experience. For a high-priced buffet, the operational flow and engagement felt standard rather than memorable.

The atmosphere is pleasant enough, but when you consider the total value, there are other buffets in the city that deliver stronger quality at a fraction of the price. This venue has potential, but the food execution needs significant improvement to match the pricing.

We decided to experience having the buffet at the restaurant after watching several YouTube recommendations. Very big spread of food, especially seafood. All good except if the sashimi chefs could remove the bloodline of salmon and membrane on the lobster. I never had such issues when I had sashimi in other restaurants.

If you’re looking for a buffet experience that truly delivers on both quality and variety, La Brasserie Restaurant at Nikko Hotel Ho Chi Minh City is a standout. This was my fifth visit, and once again, it did not disappoint.

The seafood selection is nothing short of spectacular—lobster sashimi, four different flavors of grilled lobster, and fresh crab, all incredibly fresh. The Wagyu meat, cooked on demand, was tender, flavorful, and absolutely top-notch. I even had a minor hiccup with one overcooked lobster, but the attentive staff quickly resolved it to my satisfaction.

For those willing to indulge, the premium price tag is worth it, especially with the free-flow wine that perfectly complements the dishes. Beyond seafood and meat, the buffet offers endless options: a wide variety of salads, hot and cold dishes, cold cuts, desserts, and a range of hot beverages.

Families with kids will also be happy—there’s a good selection for younger diners, including pizza, chips, and other child-friendly favorites, making it a spot everyone can enjoy.

Overall, La Brasserie combines an impressive spread with attentive service, kid-friendly options, and an elegant atmosphere. It’s a must-visit for anyone in Ho Chi Minh City seeking a premium buffet experience.

We visited La Brasserie as a family for the seafood buffet and really enjoyed it. There was a wide variety of options – everything was fresh and delicious. We also appreciated the other choices with Japanese and Vietnamese influences, which made the buffet even more exciting.
The team was very attentive and took great care of my concern with allium allergies – especially thanks to Thang Vinh Vincent for the kind service. It’s also a kids-friendly place, and our children enjoyed it just as much as we did.
A wonderful experience that we will happily repeat!

Went to La Brasserie Buffet at Hotel Nikko. Staff were super nice, attentive, and very gracious — really great service. The foie gras and its sauce were both excellent, and the lobster sashimi was fresh and tasty. Braised pork was also really good, and there’s a nice variety overall.

On the downside, the grilled lobster was a bit dry and the wagyu was tougher than expected. Some dishes were a little bland in flavor. The ambiance was good though. Probably will try another buffet next time we’re in HCMC.

This buffet is highly rated by so many reviewers. They are known for having unlimited lobster and crab and other seafood.

I did make a reservation for a party of two, but I feel like it was not necessary. I would recommend making reservations if you have a lot of people in your group (6+).

Location: inside Hotel Nikko Saigon, go up the stairs to the left of the entrance.

Price is 1,650,000 per person for dinner. This includes house wine, cocktails, and beer. However, I was told by the server that soft drinks like 7up and cola are an additional charge. If you are a guest of the hotel, you get 10% off.

Food was good. For the crab and lobster, you have to order through the servers. There are different ways to eat: grilled with cheese, boiled, grille with butter/garlic, tamarind sauce, Singapore sauce, and black pepper sauce. I enjoyed the lobsters, but the crab was a bit harder to eat. There is also cheese oyster. I posted a photo of the slip of paper where you can see the options.

In the buffet, it starts with the drinks. Then there is a pasta station, noodle (pho) station, also foie gras, desserts, etc. The food here was good but underwhelming. I would have liked to see more soup selection.

After dinner, I went to the nearby mall to walk off a bit of calories (hopefully). This restaurant was nice to try, but I don’t see myself coming back.
