Order was totally cold when we recd it. Took forever to get here. Dasher says he had to stop at another restaurant and the food wasn’t ready. Not my problem. I ordered first and my order should have been delivered right away. Dinner was ruined. This is totally unacceptable! I will be hesitant to try again. Also, the Dasher went to the wrong house.

Excellent crab cakes, chicken, brisket, corn bread, chips, fries, and beans. The crab cakes are incredible and the corn bread is the best I ever had. The fries are fresh cut and everything was packaged with care. This place is a hidden gem!

Ordered delivery last night and it was horrible, we live in ocean city md, and Sam used to be a great go to in the past, the first few times we ordered they were great and delicious, the brisket was tender and juicy, and my wife ordered the shrimp and it was steamed perfectly. The last 3 times however was really bad dried brisket and rubber shrimp. Last night we decided to give them one last try due to the fact that it’s off season and we figured they wouldn’t be rushed. We were wrong. It’s kinda sad to spend that much for that quality of food. We won’t be trying them again.

Food was amazing! I had the brisket Mac and cheese bowl. A great selection of delicious sauces. We also had the cornbread. I could eat a whole pan of it. Highly recommend. Excited to go back!

Saw tons of posts about this place on FB. While in town, we decided to try it out. I wanted to love it, but I just can’t. The location is dreary. It’s located in a rundown shopping center. The inside is very small and is carry out only. There were some tables outside to eat on. The food was just average. Nothing special.

Edit: the owner replied to my review and it was pathetic. Will not support a business that talks about their customers – see reply below. Take your money elsewhere.

This place is horrible. Steer clear of it if you value anything. They claimed to be a barbecue spot, but I felt like I was eating garbage. The ribs were horrible and tough. There was a bug in my beans. And the customer service made me feel like I was eating at a hip-hop chicken in Baltimore city. Zero stars if I could give zero.

We tried Sam’s BBQ today per recommendations and it did not disappoint. We got the brisket melt, Mac and cheese, and the boom boom shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. The prices are very reasonable. We will be back! I couldn’t get a picture of the brisket melt because we ate it too quickly. We will be back.

I feel bad leaving a bad review. I know this place is brand new. Only reason I’m reviewing is in hopes they’ll make some adjustments so they can be successful. Then again maybe we just got unlucky and other people have a different experience. I’ll start with the good.. the pulled pork tasted very good and the portion was extremely generous. The coleslaw tasted good. The bad..first of all, everything was cold. It was clearly sitting there a while even though we picked up exactly when it said to. The fries…soggiest fries we’ve ever had. Down right wet and floppy. The collard greens….what is this (see picture). It was just the liquid. I stuck my fork in thinking the broth was just sitting on top. Nope..just liquid the whole way through with a few tiny shreds of greens floating around. The pit beef sandwiches were ok but inconsistent amounts of meat..a lot on one, not so much on the other. It wasn’t dry but a little over cooked and sliced too thick. The buns were too small for the sandwich too. Based on this experience, we probably wouldn’t go back but since they are new, maybe we’ll give it some time and try again. It had potential, but definitely need some work.

First time visitor, my family liked it so much we got take out for a 2nd time in a week. (With a high energy child with autism- takeout vs eating in is more enjoyable). Quick service and very reasonable prices. Got the brisket and ribs, chicken wings, shrimp, clams, and the old standby- chicken tenders and fries for the picky eater. The brisket was actually the reason my teenager requested it again. The ribs were a little pink inside for my taste- also the chicken wings but the outside looked well done. The sides- slaw, potato/mac salad, and Mac n cheese all slapped! The fish tacos were also yummy. We’ll be back next year!

I’m relatively new to the area and have not found what I call good BBQ, so when I saw Smokin’ Sam’s, I decided to give it a try. I walked in to a young lady working the counter and started asking questions. She was very helpful and I decided on the three-meat combo with two sides and cornbread. I got pulled pork, brisket and baby back ribs with coleslaw and BBQ beans. The pulled pork was plentiful, cooked to perfection and enjoyed. The brisket was tender, flavorful and enjoyed. The baby back ribs were between fall-off-the-bone and competition tender, good flavor, leaned towards the dry side and enjoyed. The coleslaw was very good, but a small portion. The BBQ beans looked like canned beans, but had a very nice flavor and texture. Add a little brisket trimmings to them and they’ll be top-notched. The cornbread was moist and sweet. This is the third BBQ restaurant I have tried in the area and by far the best. So, Smokin’ Sam’s is #1 on the Eastern Shore per my midwestern palate. I look forward to my next meal from there.
