Monte’s is on my top favorite restaurant list. My husband and I love visiting Montauk Manor for special occasions. This evening we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Obviously we made a reservation at Monte’s! The NY strip was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. However, the tomato sauce that the restaurant serves with the eggplant Parmesan and other Italian dishes is absolutely superb. It was the first thing I mentioned to Paul when he asked how our food was. Paul also was so kind and truly made our anniversary dinner so incredibly special. We already can’t wait to come back.

Lucky to get same day reservation, table at 5pm. That sauce ( I hear took 100 years in the making) is really delicious. Bae treated to dinner while we were out east for the day.
I went with the chicken parm w a side of spaghetti. Bae went with the pistachio pesto pasta dish. For appetizer we went with the truffle fries and calamari.
All very tasty, very delicious, very satisfying.

The Manor was super decorated for the holidays.

All together a wonderful holiday dining experience.

Food was spectacular, best spaghetti I have ever had, the ricotta was like velvet, just so yummy. Service though? Pierre? When he was around, he was fine but delivered our entree and never to be seen again. The guy that filled the water was great and attentive but our waiter was the WORST ever. I am not the type of person to not tip but this was a total stretch to give a gratuity to someone that never even came back to ask if we needed anything. Again, food and atmosphere were amazing but wished we had the waiter the table next to us had, he was attentive and present.

This is a difficult one to review: Pro: service by Adam was exceptional. Calamari appetizer best I ever had as was the cannoli for dessert as well as the cappuccino. Cons: entrees were just OK, even disappointing. 60 degrees out and the AC was on and blowing right on us. Music was loud too. And it’s very dark. Worst, their small parking lot was full so I had to park almost 1/4 mile away! Really?? My group said “well now we can say we tried it.”

Monte’s is all about the sauce—it’s the real deal. If you’re a ragu lover, this place should be at the top of your list. The hotel it’s part of is incredibly cool; while we didn’t stay there, just walking through the lobby was an experience in itself. And the view of the Sound from outside the hotel? Absolutely breathtaking.

As for the food, everything we tried was excellent. The egg sandwich was hearty and delicious, with the poppy seed bun adding a nice touch. The pancakes were perfectly done—fluffy and flavorful. The Caesar salad is generously portioned and perfect for sharing. And the meatballs? Extraordinary. Seriously, the sauce is what ties it all together—so rich and flavorful.

Monte’s is officially on my must-visit list for every trip to Montauk. I can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant has a beautiful interior and terrace that reminds me of Italy. The food is Italian American, which is a far cry from Italian food I’ve experienced in Italy for the 12 summers I spent there. The service and wait staff is exceptional. If you order carefully, you probably can get a great meal. Be sure to ask that the pasta dish you order is al dente. If it were my choice, I would ask for a half portion of pasta, and then a meat entrée of your choosing. Portions in Italy are very small when it comes to pasta and often only a first course.

It’s a nice restaurant. But the lunch menu did not have as much options as I was hoping for. I just wanted a simple lunch. It’s was simple but did not taste good enough for the price range. I would recommend going somewhere else to find more options. The service was great though.

Great service, drinks, and food. Get the ravioli limone and pesto pasta. Don’t get the calimari as the pieces are super thin and mostly batter.
