When we go here to dine in it’s AMAZING every time . Food & the Service ! Now here where I took a star away because we frequent this location and recently have been using the “ Curbside To-Go”. Now with that, food turns out very good and fresh but the girl working the night we received our food was unprofessional. 2 younger guys walked in the side door for curbside orders & started chatting it up with her while we waited . Okay whatever right ? We obviously were going to tip her in cash and when she handed us our food because again LOVE this freaking place and this girl hands us the food so fast, didn’t make eye contact or say a word as we said out sorta loud “ did you want the tip ?” Like what ? Girl if you want to make some money maybe take your time instead of rushing the customer off . This was during dinner so maybe she was busy but we were the only people parked in curbside other than the 2 youngest boys in a jacked up truck chatting it up with her while on the clock inside at her station.

Very disappointing! Our group of 6 was told it would be approx. a 30 minute wait at 6:40PM Saturday night which was fine because there were several people waiting and that is dinner rush. There were larger groups before and after us that were seated and they did not have reservations made. 3 different times we asked the hostess what was going on because we watched a table in the bar area that had not been cleared off for 20 minutes. We were given several excuses that we asked for a high top (which we didn’t give any specification just that we had a party of 6) but that wouldn’t matter anyway because the table that was not cleared off was a high top. Finally getting a table after a 50 minute wait and the last ones waiting in the lobby then we didn’t get a waitress for 15 minutes and another 15 minutes before drinks and another 10 before our order was taken. The table of 8 that was seated before us but had come in after us was next to our table and had been serviced by our waitress 3 times within that time frame with drink refills and more chips and salsa. Then our order was messed up and one person in our party didn’t get their Marguerita for quite awhile. Our server complained about having a long shift and it was a busy night and she was very tired (this was before our drink order was taken and the other table got her attention for their drink refills in which she left us and got theirs). We were angry but kept our cool because we didn’t want anybody to spit in our food. We didn’t ask but the waitress came back and told us her manager said to give us a 10% discount off our ticket so I guess that is something.

Me and my friend went Feb 13th kind of late. But still was out and paid by 10. Our server was Chris. He was the BEST. Customer service really has gone down I feel. But not with him. He was so upbeat and kind and funny. Probably his last table of the night. He is one of the best servers I have had in KC. I will ask for home every time if he’s there. I think it’s important to shout out the people who deserve it.

We eat here every week,sometimes more. Our whole family considers this our go to restaurant. It’s like a second kitchen table. We started going to Jose’s in 2005 before they moved locations. And we’ve been talking to one of the same managers all that time. This place is consistently ran at a top notch level. The prices are reasonable. The staff is well trained. There are always two managers on duty. The employees seem happy, like they’re treated well. We don’t drink but never feel like we’re in the middle of a bar although there is a large bar area and it always has some folks in it. The food is always delicious. I’ve eaten everything on the menu. Chips and salsa and queso are amazing.
Anyone saying this place isn’t great has an axe to grind. It’s amazing. Oh and I’ve always been treated with appropriate concern anytime I’ve inquired about food allergens in any item.

I can’t rate the food because we never got served. Hostess seated us and for 25 minutes, not a single server stopped at our table. No chips, no drinks..very unprofessional so without a word, my table of 5 got up and left. Was a Thursday night and they were not busy

Not exactly a stellar visit. It was Friday night the weather had turned cold and windy. We had been running errands and decided to have take out Jose Peppers. We ordered on the app the Pollo Magnifico because the melty cheese and shell wrapped chicken breast, along with guac and Espinaca with chips. But, when we returned home about 5 minutes after picking it up we was suprised when opening up the entre the cheese was solid and chicken was warm. We ate anyways taking in the circumstances but I would have returned it otherwise. Looking forward to the next time, will not let this one spoil all of experiences from the past.

Chris was an absolute delight to have as a waiter. He definitely knows how to make a human laugh and do his job well. The entrees were ok, things have obviously gotten smaller over the years but the goat cheese and steak appetizer was so freaking delicious!
