When a restaurant has a small, focused menu, you know you can trust them. They serve some of the best udon I’ve ever had. Both the hot and the cold were amazing and rich in flavor in their own ways. The hot takes a the more savory soothing route, while the cold stikes the perfect balance of sweet and savory—going bolder on flavor, which is my personal favorite. The texture of the udon is perfection though—the most satisfying chewiness, paired with such tender meat. The tempura flakes add a nice crunchy texture that rounds both dishes out with all the necessary mouth feels that just make you wanna praise the Lawd!

It was a nice and cozy experience on a frigid day, well met by the warm staff. Shout out to one particular guy who just did not let anyone’s glass be less than full.

Yume Ga Arukara is an absolute must-visit for udon lovers. The noodles are outstanding—perfectly chewy, silky, and clearly made with incredible care and craftsmanship. Every bowl feels simple yet deeply satisfying, letting the quality of the ingredients truly shine.
The broth is clean, balanced, and full of umami without being heavy, and the toppings complement the udon beautifully rather than overpowering it. Whether you choose something classic or a seasonal special, each dish feels thoughtfully prepared and comforting.
The atmosphere is casual and focused on the food, which fits the experience perfectly. Efficient, friendly service and consistently exceptional udon make this place unforgettable. Easily one of the best udon spots around—worth every visit and every wait.

Went to their location in seaport and wanted to try out their original spot! Absolutely delicious as expected! We got the spicy udon soup and their signature cold noodles as well. The broth was not too heavy or salty, and the noodles had a nice chew to them. A savory and very satisfying dinner!

This place was highly recommended to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. This is some of the best udon I’ve had.

They have a very limited menu and are known for their cold noodles. I tried the classic cold and spicy hot udon both with beef and onsen egg. The texture of the udon is amazing with a really thick, nice chew.

The flavor profile of the cold and spicy hot was very different and both amazing. The cold had a rich and very fresh lemon flavor. The spicy hot was also rich and served with more soup and the dried shrimp gave it a strong umami flavor.

My only negative was I personally didn’t think the onsen egg was worth it, especially in the spicy udon. Since onsen eggs are very runny, it quickly mixed in with the broth and I didn’t really taste it. I would have enjoyed a Ajitama soy egg much more.

I came on a Sunday right when they opened at 4pm and there was no wait, but I’ve heard it can get long. They do not take reservations. There is a restroom that was very clean.

After a long session of bouldering with my friend, we came over to grab ourselves a bowl of udon. It was one of the best bowls we’ve ever had.

For a Saturday night, the line moved quickly. The wait was no longer than 15 minutes for a table for two. I got myself a hot niku udon with an onsen egg for $20 while my buddy had a vegetarian udon for $14 (will update if I remember what it was). We admired the chill vibe, the presentation, and the service! Even though the portion size was not enough to make us full, we were more than satisfied.

Please come check this place out! The fact they focus on one thing and one thing only—udon—says a lot about their maturity, and it damn well shows.

Delayed review, back in Sep’24 (cleaning up the photos).

The group of us shared some bowls. I believe I ate most out of the hot udon which was good.

Staff was a bit on the pushy side, but makes sense since they were pretty busy and probably trying to cycle groups out.

There is limited seating here, so it is difficult for a big group.

Street parking only.

The wait was one hour loooooong… This raises a question: Was it worth the wait? My answer is a no. I arrived at 1 pm and ate at 2 pm. The line snaked wrapped around the whole “lobby” of Lesley University building. A woman provided the menus near the end of the line, and she took the orders before we were taken to our table. Then why am I not so happy with what appears to be an “efficient” or “they-are-trying” system? Once inside I saw a whole another side of the restaurant sitting empty, which is another sushi restaurant. It is clearly a “related” restaurant. Why not use it when it’s not being used? I understand that it never easy to share or try to figure out how to make it work. But a customer like me does not want to wait an hour. Honestly, Marugame is close to my home home in LA, and this place probably will not stand a good chance next to it. Well, the food was decent, but not really worth an hour wait or the price. Not having the array of choices to add on to my udon as in Marugame was disappointing. The price for udon was also pretty steep, which means the owner is making serious dough. So why not give some to the “neighboring” unit to use its unused space to alleviate the lunch crowd standing around hungry?

I think this place was overhyped for me. Yes, the udon is very good and made fresh but it wasn’t life-changing or anything. I like that they do a very good job of seating people efficiently. You line up to the left of the entrance and a server comes down the line asking how big is your party. They also give out menus and take your order before you even sit down so the line moves quickly. (It still took 30 minutes for me to be seated but I had a large party of 7 people.)

Would I come back again? Sure, when I’m craving udon. But I also don’t crave udon that frequently so it was just an okay experience for me.

Yume Ga dishes out phenomenal udon focused on simplicity and quality. The ordering is straight forward: hot/cold; with/without broth; and spicy/no spicy. That’s it! Their dishes have incredible depth in flavor, fragrance, and texture with every single bite, with the star being how they prepare their chewy udon. They are nationally recognized for a reason!

Get there before 6, the lines looked crazy after we left.

It is exceptionally good ramen that is a worth a second visit if I’m in the area. Fantastic chewy noodles and delicious broth perfect for the cold winter days.
