The atmosphere was fantastic and the restaurant was packed, (definitely book in advance, I was lucky to get a last-minute online booking). Our table was looked after by a lovely young man, Tommy (!!), who looked after our table, was friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. We enjoyed great cocktails, a bottle of Prosecco, a lovely cured meat platter, and delicious mains. The surprise tiramisu with a birthday candle was such a thoughtful touch!
Also impressive watching just three chefs handle a full restaurant nonstop with full capacity, real teamwork.
The bill came to £210 and felt worth it for a special occasion. All in all, a wonderful birthday treat, highly recommended.
I’ll definitely be back, maybe next time for a light lunch and cocktails.
They’ll probably know who we were as out of the seven of us that visited, six of us ordered the lasagne! And hand on heart, that was the best lasagne I have ever had. I initially was going to order the carbonara, but changed my mind last minute, and I was more than happy that I did.
The mocktails were very good too, refreshing and sharp and also sweet!
Definitely would recommend this place to any visitor, and I hope to be able to come back myself!
The service deserves special mention, all the staff and in particular Tommy who was professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever feeling intrusive. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations, which enhances the overall experience.
A truly first-class restaurant that delivered on quality, service, and ambience. Highly recommended, and well deserving of a five-star rating.
Upon arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table on the first floor. Tommy, our server was brilliant throughout the evening and made sure we were well looked after. He also took the time to offer recommendations from his favourites on the menu.
The food was excellent. To start we shared the piccantine as a starter which exceeded expectations and was a lovely small dish to share together before our main.
My partner had the ragu genovese which was very tasty and moreish. I had the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and came with a side of fries which were well seasoned.
Finally, for dessert we shared the tiramisu. This was perfect as if was very light and not too sweet.
Overall, the visit was very enjoyable and we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you again to Tommy and the rest of the team for your excellent service and kindness.
Make sure you try the cannolo cheesecake!!
We went back today for our wedding anniversary- 27/10/25- and once again it was fantastic. We were served by India, who was brilliant. Friendly and attentive without hovering, as are all the staff. Also, they noticed we had mocktails so when they kindly gave us a drink to say happy anniversary, they gave us an alcohol free version instead of limoncello. Which is incredibly thoughtful! Thank you for another wonderful meal, we will be back!
We recently chose Ponte Vecchio to celebrate my wife, Gill’s, birthday, and it proved to be a genuinely flawless and unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped across the threshold, the afternoon felt curated and special—a true testament to an establishment that understands fine dining goes beyond just the plate.
The service we received was unequivocally five-star. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, anticipating needs before we even had to ask. Their attention to detail was apparent in every thoughtful touch, especially in how they handled Gill’s birthday celebration. The seamless, personal touches made her feel truly celebrated, elevating the entire evening into a cherished memory.
The quality of the food was sublime. The menu is a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine, but what truly distinguishes Ponte Vecchio is its deep commitment to locally sourced ingredients. The freshness of the produce, from the seasonal vegetables to the West Country meats and fish, shone through in every dish. Knowing that our meal was built upon the finest offerings from local farmers, butchers and suppliers added a wonderful layer of appreciation to the culinary experience. This focus on regional sourcing is clearly not a gimmick, but a pillar of their exceptional quality.
Whether it was the perfectly al dente pasta, the rich depth of the sauces, or the impeccably balanced wine pairing suggested by our waiter, the attention to detail in the kitchen was evident. Every plate was presented with precision, and the execution of classic dishes was faultless.
Ponte Vecchio is more than just a restaurant; it is a meticulously managed destination that delivers world-class service and exceptional food quality with a passionate commitment to its local surroundings. We cannot recommend it highly enough
