As I was preparing to turn into the Bojangles, a white pickup truck with a Screw It decal sticker rushed forward and aggressively forced its way in front of me. The driver was clearly exerting a lot of energy to be noticed. To avoid any issues, I circled around the building to allow time for another vehicle to get behind that truck. Eventually, another car did get behind it, and I then proceeded into the drive-thru queue.
I’ve visited this location a few times before. The service is usually okay, and the food is hit or miss. On my previous visit, I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit and noticed the egg was extremely thin. I assumed it was a one-time mistake, but on my next visit, it was still thin, so apparently that’s the standard.
One interesting detail during this visit was the message displayed on the first window before the pickup window. It showed Hebrews 4:16:
Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
The contrast between that scripture on the window and the aggressive behavior paired with the Screw It decal on the truck ahead of me was striking. Two very different messages, side by side — and quite representative of the world today.
My. My. My.
