Came here with some friends while visiting swansboro. Great little place with 50s and 60s decor. Fantastic Elvis statue out front. Service was super amd the food was delicious. We tried the fruit fritters and weren’t disappointed. We’ll definitely add this to our list when we come back!!

Way back in the day (2003) I worked for OCHD as their immunization tracker & would accompany our immunization nurse to the middle schools for Hep B & Tetanus shots to 6th graders. The best part about those outreach clinics was lunch with the school nurses. It’s how I found all the locals places. Yana’s was our Swansboro go to and despite moving away in 2011 and just now going back, the food was just as delicious today as it was then. And everyone who has dined repeatedly at a favorite place knows things rarely stay (or taste) the same.

Bestie & hit Yana’s shortly after 11 this beautiful Saturday morning and even though there were 4 parties ahead of us, we barely waited 15 minutes. I’ve had alot of the items on the menu during those outreaches (and with family) and never had anything I didn’t enjoy but today, I went with breakfast of a western omelet (minus the sausage & tomato) with hashbrowns (home fries) and toast. My omelet had fresh green peppers, perfectly cooked, griddle bacon and cheesy cheese. I just wanted to keep eating but I was getting full. Bestie & I also had a combination order of banana & apple fritters. My food was just as I remembered-DEEEEELICIOUS! And our fritters just makes me want to go back in a few days to see if they have strawberries in supply. Honestly, I would drive from our new home in Richlands down to S’boro every weekend if hubby would let me lol.

If you decide to dine here & are put off by the wait, don’t be. Get on the wait list & do a little shopping. You won’t regret it.

Ps, omelet didn’t last long enough for a pic!

Stopped here for a late lunch with some friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food and service was good. The dessert was yummy. We never felt rushed, even though we go there about 40 mins before closing time. We met the owner and he was so nice. He gave us quite a bit of history and showed us around the place.

This may be the BEST diner I’ve been to yet! It’s too much in a good way! We had to try the Fritters as they claim to be famous for them….and yes, they should be famous for them, they are SO GOOD! We had a full serving and did 1/2 strawberry and 1/2 apple. The fritters are made with fresh fruit and made to order. They are fantastic and a must try! Our breakfast was very good. The littles loved the Mickey Mouse pancake. Coffee is fresh and server and all staff are friendly and focused on making sure you have a great meal. We will be back for more fritters and to try the lunch menu!

Great first experience during the hectic light up Swansboro. Enjoyed the taco salad, and an old-tyme root beer float

Hidden gem is an understatement for this place. The food taste like your grandmother is in the kitchen cooking for you. The atmosphere is retro mixed with a homey feel. 10/10 highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Absolutely delicious! Been going here for over 7 years. Always had the shrimp and grits. I just can’t get past them. The best I’ve ever had! Service is amazing and just love the cute atmosphere.

The atmosphere was clean and pleasant, and everyone else was friendly — just not our waitress toward me. The food was great, and most of the staff were very professional. The only concern was our server (a blonde woman in her 30s–40s), who repeatedly directed overly familiar comments toward my boyfriend right in front of me, including asking, “Oh, is that your man?” It happened multiple times and felt disrespectful. Even my boyfriend noticed and felt uncomfortable, and it seemed like she was trying a little too hard for a bigger tip.

Because of this, I decided I’ll likely skip this server in the future. I’d still recommend the restaurant for the food and overall atmosphere, but I suggest requesting a different server or ordering to go if this is a concern.

A little throw back to the old mom and pops restaurants of days gone by. Yep, they still cook on the grill right where you can see them, while you sit at the soda bar if you like. Or get waited on at a table from their friendly staff. The food is good and a great place for any age. I would recommend a visit here if you are in the area, but do be warned it’s good enough for the locals to keep this place busy too.
