Traditional Japanese cooked dishes & sushi, plus wine & sake, in a cheerful modern space.

I love sushi and I’ve been to many good sushi places. This is on my top 3 list. The fish was fresa, we got the poison I’ve, sake poke roll, rainbow rolls, Tokio peace rolls, sake poke Nigiri, and the white tuna nigri. I twcommend them all! The decor is really great, with a wooden consteuction that feels very Japanese. There were asian people working there, one of them preparing the sushi. Above all, tested is king, and everything we got was Amazing! I will vome back, for sure!

This is the freshest sushi anywhere around! I got the new hamachi yellow tail with the fried jalapenos. Out of this world! The gyosa was great. The sauce was even better! If I had to make a suggestion, it would be that they do edamame with garlic and a spicy edamame with garlic. I did not care for the plain. To add, the garlic to edamame is not difficult at all but it makes a flavor so much better. I cannot stress enough how fresh your sushi was! I have eaten sushi and a lot of places in this area and this is by far the best!!! I will definitely come back again! I would have given service five stars but I do not believe he asked the chef if they could prepare the edamame with garlic as I requested.

The sushi was awful. We ordered a sushi boat and the rice was stale like it had been rolled that morning and sat out all day. The fish was not tasty and textures were bad. The two rolls with the boat and one additional we ordered on the side all tasted the same. They all had a weird garlic flavor to them and stale rice again. My husband and I have been to Japan and love sushi, we have never left anything on the plate, but we couldn’t even finish half of it. It left me feeling gross as well. The service and vibes of the place were good, but the food was awful. I really hate to say that, but it was very disappointing, especially for over $100 spent. We will not be eating there again.

This place lives up to the hype. Super reasonable prices for the delicious plates of food they bring out. The Katsu chicken was amazing. My wife loved the sushi, and she’s super picky with sushi. Atmosphere didn’t miss either, and that’s half the experience for me. Come eat here!!!!!

You can’t ever go wrong with Suehiro! Delicious food and great service every single time I’ve ever been here. I’ve visited here over 20 times and am always happy to come back. Sushi is fresh, you can watch them make the sushi if you are seated in the right area. Love all the sushi options as well as any of the stir fried dishes, love the vegetable tempura too. They make my favorite miso soup in town as well. They have many flavors of hot or cold sake, all of which are good.

First time to Suehiro in a while. For the price, it is probably the best sushi & Japanese food on the Western Slope. There are other places in town that have good sushi but have inflated prices compared to Suehiro. Tonight was no different. We started with the Gzoya dumplings appetizer, which is always tasty. The only change I would make to the dish is to pan sear the bottoms of them for an added crunch / texture. After the appetizer; we ordered Dynamite Shrimp, the Yellowfin Poké bowl, and five sushi rolls: KA, CY29, Rainbow, Las Vegas, and Red Ninja. I could probably eat Dynamite Shrimp every day; it’s that good. There were several of the rolls we’ve tried before, but we’re trying the CY29 and the Red Ninja for the first time. Both did not disappoint. The CY was chock full of goodness, with spicy crab and mango on top for a savory / spicy / sweet taste explosion. The Red Ninja was even better with spicy tuna, scallions, and miso sauce, placing it in our top 5 rolls we’ve tasted here in the GJ area.
The only two “complaints” we had tonight were that our server “went missing” for a good portion of the meal, leaving our beverages empty most of the evening, however she did take good care of us when she was present. The other is the design of the restaurant’s entrance, especially in the winter. When people enter and leave the restaurant, the dining area is blasted with cold air, so much so that we know to leave our coats on for the entire meal. Minor issues for a near perfect dining experience. We have enjoyed every visit to Suehiro and will be back again. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

A very cool place. Food was well prepared and good too. Our plates were full, though there was a lot of cabbage padding. I was a little disappointed that although my dish, Calamari, had mushrooms specifically mentioned, there were only 4 very thin slices of mushroom. All in all a worthwhile experience though. Plenty of food, friendly service and a good atmosphere.

We drove over an hour to come for dinner to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. Our dinner was a bummer. Starting with our drink order almost everything we ordered came out wrong. The waitress made so many mistakes. When I questioned whether she brought us the right items she obviously had no idea what items are on the menu and told me that what she brought was what what I ordered. It most definitely was not. Same with my husbands dinner and my sons. This restaurant is too expensive for this type of service. I really understand that mistakes happen and it’s ok. I was a waitress for many years. When we tried to let the waitress know how many errors there were with our dinners she said ” yeah” and seemed to not really care at all. All we really needed was an apology. All in all regrettable.
