I stopped by Yeong’s Place in North Bend, Oregon — a small, casual spot known for burgers and diner-style food. I tried their Patty Melt and Giant Burger, and here’s the honest take: it’s a mixed bag.
The Patty Melt ($12) looked promising, fries included, but the patty was thin and the rye bread tasted like something from a grocery store. Flavor was okay (3.75/5), but value felt low (3/5). A thicker patty and better bread would make it much more satisfying.
The Giant Burger was massive. It’s filling and enjoyable, but the flavor reminded me a lot of Carl’s Jr.’s Famous Star — not bad, but not unique. Value-wise, it’s good (4.5/5) because of the portion.
Atmosphere is basic and a little shabby: worn tables, a few flies, and a street/gas station view. Takeout is probably the way to go. Service was friendly, but I waited around 25 minutes despite not many customers.
Bottom line: Yeong’s Place delivers quantity over wow factor. The Giant Burger fills you up, the Patty Melt disappoints, and overall, it’s a casual spot — not bad, but it doesn’t live up to any hype.

My grandpa and I meet here for lunch on Wednesdays when im in town for work and everytime the service, food and environment is great. The staff is super nice and extremely friendly as well as quick with the orders and we never feel rushed. My grandpa and i will continue to come here four our monthly check ins and ill continue to get a new burger each time. Today i got the breakfast burger and sweet potatoe fries and it was definitely my favorite so far. Thanks for the amazing food and service.

Pretty good burgers. Stopped in with my uncle on a summer Wednesday at lunch time. I got the trifecta burger with curly fries, he got the garlic with curly. Both came out hot and fresh in less than 10 minutes. Prices are pretty good and include a side. It was full when we got there, but they are quick. Good spot to check out if your in North Bend.

My husband and I are here for the first time today, and we were very impressed. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. I had the Gouda and bacon burger, and my husband had the Trifecta burger. It only took about 5 minutes to get our food, and it was very tasty. We will definitely be going back.

Today, at 5:33 PM, 01/16/2026, I stopped by Yeong’s Place to grab some dinner.
The parking lot was full.
I looked inside, and only four tables had folks sitting at them, and of those four tables, only three had folks eating at them.
I went inside and sat down at a table and looked up at the big clock that they had hanging by the bathroom hallway.
As I was sitting there, this young female that was working there took three orders outside to the folks sitting in their vehicles.
A few minutes later, a young man that is working there took a few more orders out to some other vehicles with folks in them.
Eight minutes has gone by, and the young female is taking more orders outside.
As she came back in, I got her attention and said, I’m ready to order!
She said that I would have to order at the window, this was a first for me, they have always taken my order at the table at Yeong’s!!!
It now just me at one table and a family of four at another table!
The young man is taking another order outside!
He came back in and grab something and took it out to the vehicle that he was at least.
And ask him, sir, I’m ready to order, and he looked at me and said, you need to make your order at the ordering window, and I said, you two have been taken over ten orders outside to folks, and you can’t take one minute to take my order so I can sit here and eat it, his answer was, nope!
So, the way that I see it, the restaurant must make enough money that they don’t have the time to stop by a table as they go in and out handing out orders to other people after I have been sitting there for over a half an hour waiting for them to take his twenty dollars for a grease hamburger and fries, so I got up, and went down the street to the Oriental place and knowing that they have no problem with waiting on folks sitting at their tables!!!!
It just goes to show you, it doesn’t pay when you can’t make the time for those that are willing to come into your business and put down their hard-earned money for grease food by NOT taking just a moment to take their order, and having you end up with a bad review that everyone gets to see, plus the loss of a long time customer and their twenty dollars from now on out !!!

The burgers are always good. They try to be fast as they can, but they are popular, so it may take a few. It’s been around for years, and a few celebrities have mentioned this place. It was a favorite of the late Paul Walker. Every time you would hear he was in the area visiting family, you could bet you would see him there eating his favorite-double bacon cheese burger.

Excellent and filling. The carnivore was great, and I don’t usually go for gimmick burgers. Server was friendly and knew the menu well.
There was a cozy fire going. Very nice on a chilly and windy day.
Thank you for using a large, sturdy bun. It’s very annoying when a bun turns to mush and the burger falls apart – that won’t happen here.

We found this place based on google recommendations and it was a hit! You just never know sometimes. The burgers were delicious and the fries were crunchy! I had the guac burger and it was so fresh. We had a party of 7 and it came out pretty quick! If you’re in town and need a good burger/sandwich, I would highly recommend!

This is an awesome spot if you’re looking for a classic hometown quality burger. The prices are more than reasonable and the food was out quick. Don’t spend your money with the fast food chain burger places. Keep your money local and have a real burger at Yeong’s place.
