as Ocean Front Tavern. In 1935, there was a beer garden built over the beach on a wooden patio which was removed in 1940 to make way for a new 12-foot wide concrete walkway. The business was bought by a new owner and renamed Ocean Front Restaurant. In 1948, Johnny Burroughs bought the eatery, and Ocean Front Grill was born. In 1954, Hurricane Hazel took out the boardwalk. The damage was so great that you could drive a Volkeswagon Bug under the building. The city had no money to rebuild the boardwalk, so we did it ourselves.
Relaxed boardwalk hangout with full bar serves American chow & hosts live music during the summer.

The reason I give them 4 stars is because they do not take action to be environmentally friendly. They serve dishes in styrofoam and give you plastic utensils. Come on guys, get with the program. Ditch that stuff it is NOT good for the planet.
Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We were there about 2pm on a January afternoon so business was rather slow. At least they’re open!
For starters, our server was very friendly who took our orders promptly. When we told her that we weren’t as hungry and wanted to share meals, she did not give an attitude and said it was not a problem to do so at all. Once our food arrived, she had brought out extra utensils and little containers without us asking as well. Before she left, we asked if she could help us take a family photo and she gladly agreed.
For my food, I had ordered the seafood platter and it came with deep fried breaded shrimp, a small piece of haddock, clams, pickles (which wasn’t listed on the list), and a side of fries. Everything tasted wonderful and was very crispy. The portion size is large for its price and it’s easily shareable with 2 people.
Our server continued to come back and check on us to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our entire meal. In addition, the restaurant had a beautiful oceanic view. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.
PS. There is a mandatory 18% gratuity fee.
Stopped in here last week while at the beach and it was awesome! We were greeted by a big smile and warm welcome from our waiter, his name started with a K. He was friendly, knowledgeable and so cool.
Our food came quickly, portions were big and the food was great!! I got the chicken Philly with no bread, and it was delicious!! My daughter in law got the chicken sandwich and she couldn’t finish it because it was so big. We will definitely be back if we are ever in Myrtle again!
My grandma had this fish and loved it, my wife and I both had the cheeseburger plate and it was well worth it, I thought my favorite burger place was 5 hours away at home…I was wrong !
