NYC diners are no longer a dime a dozen. They’re becoming an endangered species to say the least. But it’s nice to know that places like the Chelsea square diner still stick around. Delicious breakfast options with warm welcoming staff. The owner himself greeted me as I took pics of the place. Can’t wait to come back on a regular basis. Lived in the neighborhood for years but always walked past in a hurry. Won’t happen again! Bravo to these guys and hope they go on late into the nyc nights !

Chelsea Square Diner is a staple for us—we come here almost every weekend for breakfast and it never disappoints. The pancakes are a favorite, and the biscuits and gravy are also excellent. Portions are generous, so consider splitting.
Service is always friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly. It just feels like a classic NYC diner experience.

Me and my friends had found this place online and the second we walked in, we knew we found a fantastic spot. Our server was a sweet gentleman who greeted us and tended to us with amazing care. When we sat down the lighting was beautiful, the decorations were so fitting, and the atmosphere was so cozy. The food was brought out quick and incredible. Will be returning just for the food and Dennis we think that’s his name

Got their specials: Matzah ball soup, Brisket, and Goulash.
The brisket is so good and flavorful. Served with potatoes of your choice and I got us french fries which was perfectly fried.
The goulash tasted mild, enough spice for American taste (as an asian I could use more but its fine). The matzah ball was good too.
Also got the yankee beans soup, fresh and comforting.
Milkshake was great!
Portions were HUGE.
It was 5 of us and I think the total bill was 100$ish which is okey.

Eggs Benedict and omelette were decent, pancakes were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was very cool in there as well and service was great. Glad we went there for Sunday brunch!

I wasted 50 minutes of my time, traveling to go to this supposed “amazing diner” and all I was left with was disappointment. First I ordered a soup which apparently included paper towels in my soup. This was absolutely disgusting. How did no one notice the clump of paper sitting in my soup? I spent $32 dollars on the worst milk shakes I have ever had. They tasted like they were purely ice with no ice cream. Have no idea how you fumble making a milkshake but they did. For my entrée I had a burger which was incredibly bland and distasteful. Tasted more like fake lunch meat. The whole experience was awful and I will never be stepping foot in this restaurant ever again. I would advise you to do the same because it’s a waste of your time, money, and energy.

Came here with a group of friends after a late night ice hockey game at the Skyrink on Chelsea Piers. Menu was very simple for a diner (I’m used to the massive NJ diner menus) and not looking to spend too much, I opted for a bacon cheeseburger with mango habeñero chicken tenders to share. One of the other patrons ordered chocolate chip pancakes. When the food came, they brought her a chocolate shake (not chocolate chip pancakes) and the mango habeñero never came either, instead we received buffalo sauce, which was the only other option for the chicken tenders. Not wanting to send another item back, we chose to just eat the buffalo chicken tenders. I do feel the burger was decent, large and compared to other menu items, I felt was fairly priced. Some other items I thought were pretty high ($22 for 4 chicken tenders and French fries). I understand…it’s NYC prices, but this is also a diner, not an upscale eatery. I’ve spent less on very nice sushi rolls than those chicken tenders, so if I’m using that as a measuring stick, I did feel many items were over priced. For a late night meal after a game (and everything else is closed)…it fits the bill. But if anything else is open, I’d personally eat elsewhere.

Had to leave this review because I’ve never had such disappointing diner food before. I had to send back my burger after one bite (I’ve never sent food back before) and the server didn’t allow us to replace it. He didn’t even ask why I couldn’t eat it. So I had to order an extra meal (which was fish and chips that for some reason came on 3 burger buns…?). It’s a shame because the diner has nice interior, plays great music, and is in Chelsea. They just need to fix their food and service standards.
