We walked straight in and were seated almost immediately, which was a great start. We ordered the Meat Lovers combo for three and it just kept coming. The variety and quality of the meats were fantastic, along with a ton of veggie options and calamari. Finishing the night with s’mores at the grill was the perfect ending and made the whole evening feel fun and memorable.
Service really stood out. Chloe was friendly, attentive, and the entire team kept our drinks topped up all night without us ever needing to ask. The vibe was spot on too. Great background music that added energy but still let us chat comfortably.
What we expected to be a quick dinner turned into a full experience, and that is exactly what makes Gyu-Kaku special. Yes, it is an expensive night out, but the amount of food and the overall experience absolutely made it worth it.
Only tiny nitpick would be the number of menus and QR codes around the place. The app works well, so it feels like they could simplify that a bit. Not a big deal at all.
We will absolutely be back
There were 13 of us and we were put in a back corner room which they use as their party table. As soon as we sat, the air conditioner came on very strong blowing on all of us in an extreme manner.
We asked that it be turned down.
Staff member said that they would. Later they said that that wasn’t the air conditioning, but it was just the ventilation system. I understand that we are in a building that is cooking food on tables with a lot of little stoves and they probably have to do a lot for ventilation.
However, people had to go outside in late December to get warm! That’s how cold it was. My friends went to their cars and brought an extra layers to bundle up with. And many of my friends ended up leaving quickly at the end of the night because they couldn’t take the cold any longer.
We made the best of it, but it was embarrassing to hold my friends captive in this winter tundra.
We joked about how we came here to camp and be frozen in a snowstorm in the corner. Many of us work in the service industry, so we didn’t blame the staff, However, it definitely put a big damper on my birthday, Especially the fact that people needed to leave early just in order to feel comfortable.
The food was delicious and I would like to come back, but, I just felt like I really needed to point out that this is not a sustainable situation at least for that back party room. I wish that the manager offered some sort of discount or something for the insanity of it all. Would’ve been a nice gesture. I can’t imagine that we were the only table that has been through this conundrum. And I also don’t think that this type of extreme ventilation is required in order to keep the building safe. Ive been to similar restaurants and never felt this frozen before. I feel like this is something that they should address.
The food, the service, the atmosphere, the quality of the menu and the options and specials that they offer are amazing.
Wonderful, romantic, elegant, and charming!
Our server was exceptionally nice and timed all the courses perfectly. She also changed our grill as needed and without interrupting the flow of the meal.
Well indicated allergy listings on the menu. Lots of gluten free options. Well educated staff.
Everything we ordered was delicious, with a good variety of marinades, seasonings and sauces. The kimchi was perfectly cold and crisp.
