First time visitors. Good food and ample seating. Had my daughter and grandkids with me. One in a high chair. The footlong hot dog was a lot better than expected. Pricing was very good as well.

I stopped by here around 3:05pm on a Saturday afternoon (1/25/25) after finishing a training nearby. I found this place on Google and decided to stop by as I wanted to try a local establishment.
When pulling in, I noticed they have a drive thru window for call in orders. There is an entrance on both sides of the building. They have outdoor seating on one side.
There was a lady in front of me who appeared to be a regular. My wait to order was brief. I told the cashier it was my first time there. She couldn’t give me any solid recommendations as “I’m very picky” and “eat at the same restaurants” but “this isn’t one” LOL. She added “I just work here.” That gave me pause. I don’t know many people who work at a food establishment that haven’t had their food… especially if you work as a cashier. She did give some recommendations and I opted for a burger as she mentioned they are prepared and cooked fresh vs frozen patties.
I ordered a Double bacon cheeseburger (with bbq sauce) with hush puppies and a sweet tea at 3:12pm. It was a little over $13. They take orders on a traditional order pad. I was given the bottom with a number when my order was ready.
I was given a cup of ice to get my own drink. The sweet tea was PERFECT, Southern style sweet tea. They do have unsweetened tea and lemonade along with foundation drinks.
My order was ready at 3:17pm, which was fairly quick. While seating, I noticed many tables were dirty and not cleaned, even though they were empty and had been for a while. The floor wasn’t the clean either as I noticed trash and dirty under the tables and in the walking areas. I sat at the table by the TV. When looking up at it, I could tell it was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
My hush puppies were hot and delicious. When I unwrapped my burger, I immediately noticed my bun was cold, which was disappointing. It was also dry… The patties were a decent temperature but the cold buns threw things off, for me. It looked and tasted like it was cooked well done. They didn’t ask what temperature I wanted it cooked and it’s likely because they may not know how to prepare the various styles.
Most of the staff were young, likely teens or early 20s. I did see an older gentleman as well.
I saw one staff scratching/rubbing his beard and his arm along with being on his phone in the food service/area. I saw another person scratching his neck and back. I didn’t see either of them wash their hands afterwards. I was present when another order came in. The former put on one glove and began preparing the food… without washing hands.
Apparently, there is no designated area for eating or drinking as I watched the staff do as they please around the kitchen. Honestly, they shouldn’t be eating in the kitchen anyway… It was very unsanitary and I wished I hadn’t witnessed the things that I did as I was eating.
Staff need more training on food safety. Dining room needed attention and cleaning but staff opted to be in a circle and chit chat in the kitchen during down time. It wasn’t busy at all during my 40 minutes there.
With current operating procedures and practices, I do not and would not recommend this place. I don’t plan on returning if I’m in the area again.

To start, the employees in here are all gathered around talking and playing when they could be greeting customers and prepping. When we placed our order we asked for fresh food, and was assured everything would be good. This is the state of the wedges received. A manager came in from smoking outside. When straight to the back, without washing her hands and grabbed a cup and some type of drink from the kitchen refrigerator… the employees that are wearing gloves do not change their gloves between handling cooked food and uncooked food. Very disappointed in this restaurants services and will not be back.

This place is a gem and a walk back in time. Ladies at the counter are super sweet and the food is just fine and very inexpensive. No wonder it’s so popular w the locals. So many comments about cleanliness in th reviews but I do t see what they are complaining about. It’s an old place but seems to be doing great. Would happily return if passing by again.

I have some dietary restrictions and requested alterations to a meal, and they are more than happy to provide what I requested, with a smile, and a very decent price. The person taking orders knows the menu, knows the ingredients and was able to answer questions that I had without a second thought. (I asked if they could do frozen coffee sugar-free and she was able to tell me exactly what was in the mix they used and that she could not offer it sugar-free, which was slightly disappointing but I was very happy she was able to answer my question and knew exactly what I was looking for.) Their prices for their meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are very good and their portions are good sized. You will not leave hungry, that’s for sure.

I have fond memories of coming here as I was growing up with my mom and dad ( whom I miss greatly ,God rest his soul) and my brother . For living on Murdock rd. ,born and raised so to speak was not very far to come. Over the years the place has changed some but the food is still good this morning the staff was very friendly and top notch service I received!
