The Polar Cub serves the best creamy soft ice cream that you would ever want. I have stopped here on numerous occasions and was never disappointed. I would order a vanilla cone or a hot fudge sundae and enjoy every bite. The area is always very neat and clean. The staff is always very friendly and helpful – which keeps me coming back. The Polar Cub is located along Route 22 East and is easily accessible from the highway. They provide ample parking for their customers. If you have a craving for soft ice cream, I highly recommend the Polar Cub. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy………….

A nice choice to get your delicious ice cream in a leisurely summer evening or a hot summer afternoon. It’s always crowded during the evening hours. Finding a parking spot could be tough since people really enjoy having their orders with their family/friends by the cars or around. Ice cream also gets more delicious under such an atmosphere….

So I usually do not order soft serve. However I read in the reviews at the soft serve is amazing. When I saw the two flavors of brownie batter and cake batter I knew I had to have them twisted for a cone. I cannot believe how delicious that ice cream was. It was really creamy too.

Aug 9, 2021 – If you want to find the best ice cream around, look no further. Polar Cub is our go-to ice cream shop. It is a small town ice cream shop right on Route 22. Selection and prices are quite good so it does get crowded on the weekends. The kids working at the Cub are friendly and efficient. Soft serve vanilla with cherry shell dip and soft serve vanilla with wet walnuts are just perfect for us. Looking forward to pumpkin spice in October! Oh yeah… No credit cards accepted – cash only. Parking and outdoor seating are available.

I ordered a delicious Reese Cup Flurry with chocolate ice cream while sitting at a picnic table and enjoying a lovely summer evening. Their portions are beyond generous and the staff was the perfect balance of friendly and efficient — they kept that line moving! A lovely, classic, ice cream place, usually when an establishment is cash only it is a downside to me but I found it added to the overall charm.
My husband and inlaws have been coming here forever and say they’ve never had a big thing on the menu and I am not surprised. Our group had flurries, softserve cones, shakes, and hard serve ice cream, all of which was creamy and delicious 🙂

I will drive 30 min just for Polar cub ice cream. Their soft serve is top notch!!
My usual order is a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles. If i choose something else, it’s good, but i always sit there going “I wish i got the vanilla soft serve”. It’s just sooooo smooth. It’s perfect!!!
My family and friends have gotten the hard ice cream, banana on a stick dipped in chocolate, shakes, slushies and nobody has been disappointed. Over the past 10 years they’ve come to offer a few (usually 1-3) vegan flavors daily (made my lactose intollerant husband happy bc we could ALL get a treat together).
They even offer the dog frozen treats. We have one dog who gets a kids cone of vanilla and the other who can’t handle dairy, so he gets the frozen treat.
On hot summer nights, The parking gets crazy to find a spot, but the key is to be patient and kind bc people are always finishing up and leaving.
One customer gave us a tip once… at the end of summer, when polar cub is readying to close, her family orders a large ice cream sheet cake so that they can have polar Cub all winter. We tried this once, but the cake didn’t last past Halloween. lol!
Excellent ice cream and worth the drive!!
And remember it’s Cash Only!

I ordered a medium soft serve vanilla Sunday with wet walnuts, strawberries and whipped cream. The ice cream was very dense, smooth and creamy. It was a hot day and the consistency was great and held up nicely. One of the best soft served vanilla’s I have had. The whipped cream was also very dense and creamy even in the heat. Again, one of the best whipped creams I have had. The wet walnuts were very good. They weren’t too sweet or too wet. The strawberries were in a natural type juice, not that gooey stuff. I felt it was a good price for what I got.
There was a line but, it went pretty quick and smoothly.
