The egg roll jalapeño popper appetizer is a must, not too spicy and had good flavor. The pepper jelly sauce that came with the appetizer is something that would be amazing added to a sandwich or burger. I added it to my chicken sandwich which really needed more flavor. I upgraded to sweet potato fries for $2 more, you can judge the picture if you think it was worth the upcharge. The Chicken soup sounded interesting so we got it, not really a fan. Came with a half turkey club. The turkey was very thick cut, a nice portion and was good. Out of the main meals we have had there, I like the appetizers the best. Next trip we ordered the pretzel with queso and the egg rolls. Both very good. The spice of the rolls did over power the queso, I wouldnt recommend eating them at the same time.

This is a mixed review. First the good: the ambiance is amazing. We had an outdoor patio seat with a view of the park and lake. The restaurant was clean and not too loud. The other three people in my party enjoyed their food, they had the tailgate rolls, burgers and Mahi tacos. The disappointment happened with the vegan request. There was only one item on the menu that could accommodate, it was the portobello burger and the bun needed to he replaced by lettuce (it contains egg). When asking the server if there were any other items on the menu, I got the insulting “salad” answer. Should have actually taken the salad route because what arrived was a slippery mess that contained a sauce with dairy. A staff member came by to help and offered to have the kitchen make another, but the first round took an hour and it just did not look appetizing. I appreciated the offer and they did comp the meal and my drink. That extra care meant a lot.
If I can make a suggestion, please offer side dishes so that a meal can be pieced together by someone who chooses not to eat animal items. Easy items are rice, broccoli, or beans.

HOLY FRESH SEAFOOD . Hear me out order the in house breaded calamari and fish in chips. Wowza!!! I’m pretty picky on seafood and you can’t go wrong with those two

Absolutely horrible service, with the added bonus of complete disinterest in customer service. They got nothing right and seemed almost resentful of us. I ordered a burger medium rare, it came out as a hockey puck and about as cold as one. No condiments on table, waitress just walked away I had to go ask for ketchup and was told it would be brought out even though there were open tables with ketchup on them. Apparently they knew they needed not worry as the burger could not havile gotten any colder. Then we ordered dessert, took forever to get it and coffee with milk order was brought out with no milk. I asked again and got a scowl. Coffee mug was half full of tepid coffee. Brownie sundae was the second hockey puck served to us in one sitting – either thoroughly microwaved to kill all bacteria or just well hardened over a series of days or weeks. Truly bizarre almost like they were punking us. One of the worst meal and service experiences in memory.

We came here for the first time with our kids. We loved it so much and will definitely be back! It is a very nice restaurant and the food and service is amazing! My husband got the mushroom swiss burger and I got the southwest chicken alfredo. All of it was so delicious. Our server was quick and very nice. I forgot her name but she’s pregnant.

We had burgers and sweet potato fries and fish and chips and calamari and it was so awesome but the fish, meh. Staff was awesome like out of nowhere your drink was refilled, water, soda pop, great great service. The fish just tasted dirty. I’m sorry but that’s the truth and I’m a fish a chips (I swapped chips-fries-for onion rings and they sure worth going to this place all by themselves). Overall, great! And the location, downtown CDA with free parking and if it’s full, just park at the library across the street.

We recently dined at Sweet Lou’s Restaurant & Tap House, and it was a delightful experience. The service was impressively fast and friendly, making it a great spot for families. The beer selection is fantastic, with 32 options on tap, including many local favorites, and they also have a full bar.

I tried the chicken pepper sandwich, which was amazing, and my wife loved the ahi tacos. While it may not be the best food I’ve ever had, it certainly satisfied everyone in our group.

Sweet Lou’s is perfect for large gatherings or if you’re looking for a lively place to watch sports, thanks to the numerous TVs inside. After your meal, I highly recommend heading across the street to the park and taking a stroll by the beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Overall, a solid 4-star restaurant that I’d definitely recommend.

I have really mixed feelings about Sweet Lou’s. The atmosphere is great – the service was good but we had such mixed feelings about the food. My wife had the Mahi Taco’s and the fish was so dry she simply couldn’t eat it. It was hard and extremely dry. On the other hand, I had the Pork Rib eye – and I can honesty that it was one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant in a long time – it was really good. We had the Potato Skins for a starter – they were really good and more than enough for two people. Beer was good – just such a pity about the fish
