We stayed two minutes down the street from this deli and it was amazing! What a special local find!! We went for dinner and had corn beef sandwich, wings and fries for dinner. The white sauce with the fries is AMAZING!! We went back the next morning for groceries but we had to just get the breakfast sandwiches! We got four and then also the fake and bake burrito. All so amazing and so delicious. They have an amazing selection of groceries and super unique finds. And most importantly the staff was extremely kind and so welcoming!! Definitely coming back!!

Waves is a MUST if you’re in the area! Big selection of beer, wine, local coffee and other food drink items. The deli is in the back. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are jamming to some good music too. Menu is easy to navigate. Food is fantastic! I got the Big Stanley and fries with white sauce. My boyfriend got the Maui Wowie and onion rings (he had this twice becausehe liked it so much). My sandwich was HUGE. The fries were delicious and that white sauce is otherworldly. Ask for extra, you will need it! I didn’t get any pictures of his because he dug right in. We were here during the flooding and storm and Waves has been open the whole time. They have Starlink so when the internet went down they weren’t affected. Big thanks to the Bartender at Neptune’s that suggest it to us!

I love Waves Market and Deli so much! We visit this place multiple times a day! Not only do they have basically everything you need during your stay…. the have the BEST food you will find in the OBX. My husband probably ordered 6 burritos during our one week stay. The specials are amazing! The people that work there are the sweetest! Don’t pass this place up!

I ordered a simple cheese sandwich for takeout, and they somehow managed to mess it up three different times.
The first time, there was barely any cheese and the bread wasn’t even toasted. It’s a good thing I checked before driving off. The second time, they toasted the bread with the cheese on it (which made it soggy), and still ignored my request to have it cut and wrapped separately. By that point, what was supposed to be a quick takeout lunch turned into a long, frustrating delay.
Now I’m eating the second half, and somehow they managed to put bacon on it. I’m vegetarian.
It’s really not that hard to make a cheese sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Three tries and they still couldn’t get it right.

Every visit to Outer Banks includes multiple visits to Waves Deli. You cannot go wrong with any sandwich ordered. Today was the Breakfast sandwich with sausage. The picture doesn’t do it justice. Huge sausage and egg done just right. Bread is Texas Toast. Other hot sandwich was the Mr. Herman. If you are craving a NY style Reuben look no further. Marbled rye bread, sauerkraut just enough for marvelous flavor but not swimming in it and the corned beef tender and tasty. Also has a great choice of wines and groceries. Staff is so friendly. Highly recommend. No seating it is take out only. Short wait to get food and while there two huge orders in and out with no problems. Huge selection of cold drinks, chips and dips.

The food is amazing! And the portions are big. Lots of choices. Plus the store has so much more. Lots of cool stuff you might not find in other stores. Huge beer selection. A must stop if you are in or even near Waves, NC. Staff is always friendly, helpful and welcoming.
