Beechwood Cafe never disappoints! I love its brunch options, specially the pancakes and house fries. Definitely worth a shot when in the neighbourhood.
There maybe some wait time during weekends, but really a good vibe and great experience.

Beechwood is delicious for a sit down meal, for a counter service coffee and pastry, or to carry out. Their salted caramel iced latte is the best in Jersey City, and you can get an order of 2 pancakes for $8. The service is always great, and the location is central to the path, or to anything else on Grove.

I love this place! It’s always so cozy and the staff is so friendly. For example, today they offered me to order what I usually order as a souvenir, they even remembered what milk I drink my coffee with. Very nice. And the food is so homey, you can just explain what you want and they will bring it and cook it.

Great location and atmosphere. Their execution on the brunch menu is fine but nowhere near as good as Sam Am, Scram or a handful of other spots around town. Their lunch execution comes up quite short. I’ve ordered a few different things on the menu and all of it was bland.

Great experience, worth a visit!

Update: Visited for brunch and sat outdoors – ordered the French Toast (fantastic taste and presentation, exceptionally soft with custard on the inside), the Southern Pepper Egg Croissant (very good dish, soft and tasty), California omelette (good, but could have had more flavor), Almond croissant (average, was stretchy, lacked filling, and didn’t look as appetizing), and a hot white rose tea (amazing, definitely hit the spot!).

The service was excellent and tips were included (we were a table of five). Overall, even though a few dishes missed the mark, it was an excellent visit, and it continues to be a solid recommendation.

As a vegetarian it is hard to find a good Veggie Burger. This place has it, and it is hands down one of the best ones I have had. Also the fries that they offer on the side are so crispy outside and soft inside that they taste so good. Also the different varieties of coffee they offer, they have amazing flavors. Honestly if you are looking for a good Coffee place to sit down and relax, do visit this one.

Deliciousness! This place is a surprising gem in Jersey City. Coffee was pristine. Pancakes were to die for with fresh made compote and syrup. And the basil mayo on the BLT was everything! Our server Joseph was such a sweetie too! Great service by the whole staff! Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Cool place to grab breakfast! Food was excellent, service was great and the atmosphere is nice. We had breakfast here on a weekday morning at about 8:30 and it was not busy at the time.

I have the mixed berry pancakes and they were great. The compote is very flavorful and not overly sweet, and the maple syrup reminded me of caramel. It was delightful! My wife had the Santa Fe burrito and she enjoyed it – lots of flavor and good portion size.

I’d go back without even thinking twice – great stop!

I have been here many times, I took a long break from this lunch/brunch spot.. but it was quite disappointing this morning. I had the breakfast platter and I had two sides of meat sausage was ok and the bacon was dried up and hard. It wasn’t fresh bacon and tastes like dried bacon chips, I told the waiter and he said people like their bacon dried up..?! So he brought out a fresh plate of bacon. I just feel like if the prices are going to go up… then quality should go up as well.. this breakfast was $19.. with dried up home fries and pancakes were ok, still taste a little undercooked. Unfortunately, I just won’t be coming back. Bill came up to $55 with my partners entree and latte. I don’t mind paying if the food is worth it but my food was a 5/10 to be honest.
