I went for a motorcycle ride the other day and came across Heffer’s Kountry Cafe. We were able to walk right in and get a table for 2 right away. The decor is definitely Country with lots of cow decor.
We were greeted quickly by our server, got our drink order right away. I decided on the Heffer’s omelette (all the meats and veggies) with pepper jack cheese. Our wait for the food was brief, the food came out hot and fresh.
I took my first bite and was super impressed by the omelette, loaded with flavor, so delicious. The home fries were very good, but the omelette was one of the best I’ve had in a very long time. I highly recommend Heffer’s Kountry Cafe. My 3 egg loaded omelette was $10.00. Excellent food and prices.

My husband and I ate here two mornings while we were in town on a trip. Delicious, good variety, and VERY REASONABLE prices for what you get/the portions as things go these days. I enjoyed my donut French toast (sugar attack but delish) and omelette. Hope to be back!

It wasn’t my fault, but we arrived at a very busy time late Sunday morning.
A line had form at the door and we had to sign in and wait. Because they are a small restaurant with a large following, we waited longer than I normally would.
The service was exemplary. We were checked on several times and our coffee was refilled when needed.
The food arrived piping hot.
The Greek omelette was delicious.
The country fried steak was good.
It’s hard to find a restaurant that can properly cook an over medium egg, but I’ve found one now!
Even the grits were cooked properly.
No complaints with anything.
The price point for all items on the menu were amazing.
Many places are cutting back on staff and increasing prices while reducing portion sizes.
Prepare to be impressed here.
I’m a new regular here!

My goodness! First meal I’ve had in Daytona that wasn’t overly salted or gave me heartburn. Had the egg and pork chop special. The seasoning and spices on the potatoes and pork chops were delicious! The young man that works here provided great service and was attentive. What a multitasker he was. Give him a raise!

Being from Pennsylvania we look for small cosy places to eat .. and this was not it! Unfortunately the day we went everyone called off and the kitchen staff was delivering the food, for the only waitress working, a patron was cleaning the tables, for incoming customers.
My husband ordered the tuna fish and a side of applesauce and I ordered a salad with tuna fish. Neither meal had any real flavour to them.

Another tale of sad but true. A great American dining experience tucked away in a little corner of Florida, easily missed if you blinked too long as you drive by, not realizing the injustice you’ve just done to your taste buds… Next time you’re in Florida. Slow down! Then make a full stop at Heffers diner. I promise you, it’s worth the stop. The food is honest, delicious, and reasonably priced. The coffee was hot and fresh, the iced tea was freshly made, the lemonade was delicious. Every plate of food we received was basically perfect. Now, if you’re interested in the rest of my thoughts, then keep reading.

This is one of those places that Gordon Ramsey would probably not approve of based solely on look. He’d likely have something snooty and stupid to say about the location or decor that never makes any sense to normal people. BUT… when he tastes the food, he won’t be able to say anything else because his mouth would be full for the rest of time. Unable to speak, trying to understand the flavor explosion happening in his mouth.

Funny as that would be to see, I can’t speak for Chef Ramsey, but I can for my family. We’re on vacation and looking for breakfast locations near the hotel, and like most people, our search was based solely on ratings and food reviews. After all, we’re not Floridians and we don’t know anyone down here in the Daytona area to ask opinions or get recommendations. As of July 2025 the ratings on this place is 4.6. I hope it goes up to 4.9 in the near future. I know it will never be 5.0 because there is always that one guy, that one Gordon Ramsay wanna be, that one person having a bad day, you know that one guy is going to leave a not so nice review because they had a bad day elsewhere.

I ordered the country fried steak and eggs because it’s my go to breakfast, and I have a very high expectation for my country fried steak and eggs. Until today, Bob Evans had one of the best country fried steak and eggs. But not anymore. Heffers country fried steak and eggs made Bob Evans version suddenly seem like improved cardboard. The steak cut was tender and well seasoned. The gravy was spot on. Even the darn eggs tasted better. It honestly made me question whether or not the other places I had country fried steak were even using the right recipe. Also, when it comes to breakfast, the only drink for me is coffee, and the coffee here was hot and fresh. Not too strong, not too weak, just right. Somehow, they managed to have the Goldilocks of coffee. I would tell you what my daughters, wife and my mother’s opinion of their food was, but I can’t, because their mouths were stuffed the whole time, smiling as they mumbled and munched along. Their orders included, Mexican omelette, pancakes, grits, scrambled eggs and cheese, and it was all gone with smiling faces.

When it comes to food, my family is unforgivably picky and finicky. It is exceedingly rare for them to finish entire meals. It is even more rare for them to mention return visit to any food place. That happened today. My family will dislike entire restaurants based off a single item of food. Bad pancakes, unseasoned fries, or even drinks that didn’t meet their high standards. So, when they leave arguing about when they will come back, says a lot.

There is something on the menu for everyone. And I’m pretty sure if they don’t have it, they’ll put it together and make it for you. Do yourself a favor. Slow down, sit down, and enjoy probably one of the best breakfast in Daytona area.

Been here multiple times for breakfast and has always been great food and service. Today we got here late so I had lunch even though you can use breakfast afternoon. Figured I’d give their lunch a try. And the burger was great. And the service is too notch. Tyler and Adriana both were very professional and made sure we had all we needed. While making sure the rest of the customers were taken care of as well. If you have never been here before I highly recommend you come. Will not disappoint! Five stars!!!!

We finally decided to check this spot out and super glad we did.

This is a busy little place but they get people in and out efficiently without making you feel rushed or pressured.

Our food was prepared well and tasty. The portions were appropriate and filling, and the service was always with a kind smile.

The dining room was packed but there wasn’t a loud dining room atmosphere at all.

I just wished they had the apple cinnamon pancakes or the glazed donut French toast everyone was raving about. That was definitely a draw in as I don’t eat many sweets but those both sounded amazing.

We would recommend them and will be going back.

Went in sunday for their breakfast buffet Service was pretty good. The buffet was not ready, when it was ready it was all lunch stuff. The place was super dirty. Had grease stains from the plates before us. Yes the ring wiped off with a little water. The ventilation was nasty dirty, what I saw of the kitchen they dont care bout keeping clean.. a super fast “remodel” paint in places it should not be again neglect food was ok, defanatly not worth the price.. sausage in the gravy was burnt and food was up 10 min before the gravy. Which was super odd. Strawberry cinnamon rolls were a really good idea. But if they were cooked fully. Half my roll was raw.. my brothers melted on his plate.. I could go on.
