Don’t be misled by the old negative reviews, this restaurant is under new management, and the food is absolutely delicious! Truly a hidden gem in El Monte. Why drive to another city when you can enjoy amazing food right here?
I’ve tried the pork belly, which they sell by the slab, and honestly, it’s better than many places that roast an entire pig. The flavors are rich, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying.

Sunny Shine looks like a hole in the wall but it’s a real gem if your are looking for Cantonese Chinese food. Great flavors and low price with great portions. Hard to beat.

This place changed hands recently, the menu slightly changed (they now have Sichuan style spicy plates). But the quality of food is still great, the price is fair and the portions are huge. The decor and atmosphere is non-existent, the service is barely passable – your typical Chinese restaurant feel. But due to the quality of the food, I still would recommend this place. Give it a shot!
