Fun atmosphere, welcoming staff, and a great spot to finish the night. Small touches like the coin mustache machine made the experience even more memorable.

Seems like this bar has a cute ambiance, but it’s concerning that security doesn’t prioritize customer safety. It’s important to be extra careful and aware of your surroundings in this crowded and cramped environment. There are way better and safer bars on Main Street that you should check out instead.

Joe and Nora are the best! Friendly, attentive and fast.
Great atmosphere. I felt like I was walking into a bar version of that 70s show. Definitely a place I’d bring out-of-town visitors
Will return without a doubt!

Cute, little dive bar! Loved the vibes & the bartenders were great. On Mondays they have karaoke after 9:30pm too.

Spiked hot cocoa was excellent. Fair prices for sure. Limited seating, but the vibe from the homey feel of the place is great. Bartenders were both very nice. Recommended.

You know that pub that never fails, that pub that always greets you with a smile that comes from the heart rather than the intention of taking your money, that pub that watches your back if you come in alone, that pub that stands up for female comfort and security during a night out, that pub that leaves you with dream like memorable moments when your week has been nothing but a nightmare. Well, to put it simply, this is that pub.

I visited The Cortland at the end of October. It was Friday night before Halloween, and I gotta say I was a little shocked at how empty it was. It’s a small bar by all standards, with mood lighting to fit the general vibe of the bar. I’m not much of a cocktail person, so I’ll speak more to the beer than anything. I had one beer from the tap (Greenport Black Duck) and it had some metallic off flavors that make me think that either it was an older keg or the lines hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. I wanted to grab an Evil Twin can, but the bottle list wasn’t up to date. The bartenders had said they hadn’t received Evil Twin in weeks, so I had a Blue Point Toasted Lager instead. This bar is a cool little spot, just not my favorite.

Literally the only bar I go to on Long Island. Ask for Kristin-she is nice but the men are mega hot if you’re into eye candy. She’s sexy too if you perfer females.
Would give this 6 stars if possible.

Amazing atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, tasty drinks, and the names of the cocktails were fantastic! Highly recommend for alternative or even music fans in general.

This is one bar that feels almost out of place with it’s surrounding neighbor. A Williamsburg hipster feel in Long Island? Yup. *** The decor is dim lit that have many artsy pictures framed on the wall to add to the vibe. The space is extremely narrow going to and from the bar or even further to the back area. ***Loved the drinks*** They have MANY infused cocktails. ***MUST TRY: Fresh Cortland Apples & Chai Tea w/Raspberry Cider. Strong potent punch from the initial sip that smooths out and finishes heavy with the Chai. Good bang for your buck. *** Maple Bacon & Fresh Dates W/ Raspberry Cider tasted like pancakes, the best kind. Add in the kick of maple syrup and it really satisfies your inner sweet tooth. *** Butternut Squash, Cinnamon & Vanilla Bean w/ Apple Cider tastes like your homemade apple pie straight from the chilling in the fridge. *** Roasted Garlic & Beef Jerky W/ Bloody Mary is the BEST Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. It will rock your socks off. Nice heat, good medium notes from the garlic and beef, and right portion of tomato juice to vodka. *** They also have spiked shakes but I’d skip it. *** Great detour if you miss your boat to Fire Island.
