I love this place mostly for the fish nuggets, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the red beans and rice. The chicken is well seasoned and not overcooked. The fish nuggets are fried perfectly and not greasy with just a kick of spice. The red beans and rice are good but not like the home grown Louisiana style but still good because it has flavor and a little kick to it as well. The dirty rice I am not a fan of because it lacks flavor and that true cajun essence. It’s missing a bunch of ingredients. I can truly say if you order the fried chicken, you will fall in love, if not, you clearly have a palate issue. The picture is of the fried wings and legs I ordered.

Got the shrimp and chicken special with cole slaw as my side and sweet tea as my drink. Everything was delish. Cooked to order and came out piping hot. While there so just happened the food inspector made a visit, and from the convo I could hear between her and the staff, things appeared to be in good shape. So that’s always comforting, nothing worse than eating at a disgusting establishment. Their tables were clean as well as the floor so kudos to them.

The customer service is very poor at this business. I sat there waiting for my order and watched the cashier cursed out 2 separate customers who walked out 2 separate times. I hope the owner knows he/she is losing business everyday. She’s very fast talking and very rude. People ask her questions about the menu and she doesn’t answer her customers politely and she disrespects her customers. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. I will never visit this place again and I will not recommend it. That’s her in the photo smiling after the lady she cursed had walked out.

So apparently you are not allowed to take the sauce off the chicken and rice. For those that have never worked in the kitchen before let me explain to you how your chicken and wings are prepared normally first they are cooked then while still hot they are placed normally in a metal bowl and then the sauce is added and that’s how you get your crispy chicken in your orange, sesame…etc. The kitchen term is called tossing. FOR HEALTH REASONS.. I asked for them not to toss the chicken and just place it on the plain rice. I was told in a very smug way that it wasn’t possible… WASN’T POSSIBLE TO SKIP A STEP IN THE MEAL PREPARATION.. and had to go without eating Which in my particular case also was a hazard to my health considering I had to take medication that was supposed to be with food and this was the closest thing to healthy food that was available.
I have spent hundreds of dollars in the past year’s coming here.. I promise you, I will not come back.

I just left this restaurant for the first and last time. I checked out the reviews before going and I was forewarned about the young lady that runs the counter, but I decided to give it a try anyway.
My initial encounter with her was pleasant. I placed my order. She told me the wait was 15 minutes, which was pretty accurate. I ordered a whole wing combo and 4 pieces of whiting.
When I got to my car with my order, I checked everything out because something smelled funny. The wing combo and corn fritters were fine but the problem was with the fish. It wasn’t properly cleaned and it was undercooked. Fried fish should be white and flaky inside. It was translucent and pinkish. I took my my order back in and asked for a refund of the fish portion. She called the cook out to look at the fish and then told me I would have to give back the entire order. When I inquired why, she said it was because I paid with a card. I said that was fine but just charge me for the chicken meal. She refused and took the entire order back. I asked for the owners information, she identified herself as the manager. I said I don’t need to speak with you because you apparently don’t know how to manage an establishment properly. She refunded the meal and I went in my merry way.
I’m convinced the owner either doesn’t monitor these reviews or is related to her since she is still working there. Hopefully enough people will stop patronizing the establishment due to her horrible attitude.

Beware! Roaches. After my statement, I am sure they will remember me coming in. With the food, I will give the benefit of the doubt because it was about a hour before closing. It took me a second to choose what I wanted but as I looked around I noticed hand written sign saying no refund. Told people don’t like something and want to change it. Not sure about that one. What I have seen about what the reviews say, I do feel there may have been a certain vibe from the woman working there but… my biggest concern is what happened after I paid for my food. Right after I paid and my card went through, my young one needed to used the restroom. I was given a key and when entering the restroom and turning on the light, I see roaches. My young one no longer wanted to used the restroom. Of course me for working at restaurants in the past, I know about cleaning them. I question the cleanest, when I came in the building. One thing I know about roaches is, if they are in the restroom, they must be in the kitchen. Especially with the design of the store. I said something and I was told it was the trash can for why they were in there. I gave a suggestion and had no problem asking if they were in the kitchen. You know what the answer was. I feel, there is no way the restroom has them and not the kitchen. I do not want to imagine what happens when they leave and the lights are off. What do they see when they come in every morning?
Once I went home, I almost didn’t want to eat the food, thinking that the place was not clean, the fish I had was salty and was extremely greasy. I pressed a napkin to it and the grease was soaking it. I didn’t eat the rest of it and my young one’s fries were greasy as well. I don’t like to eat out often but when I do, I hate to spend money on something I could have cooked better with the skills I have. I will not be going back to this place.
