Yessss! I FOUND IT…..after searching “Oh” so long. Uuugh.
#1 BEST JERK & CURRY platters WE (me & boo) have had. Lets talk about it.
Me – Jerk Chicken, rice/peas, & cabbage.
Boo – Curry Chicken, rice/peas, & cabbage.
The jerk is the closest to AUTHENTIC I have had in Baltimore & the surrounding areas. It was grilled perfectly not burnt. There was flavor in the chicken by itself. The best part is they did NOT dumb down the SPICE that is EXPECTED with Jerk! They put the sauce on the side. When I stuck my tongue in…. spicy then on top that seasoned chicken…I couldn’t stop eating. The rice isn’t really seasoned but it went good with EVERYTHING else. 10/10. THANK U!
Of course I smashed Boo’s curry also. It is not salty but it was soooo damn RICH in flavor, love, and the PERFECT tenderness. The veggies in the curry just made u want to drink the sauce. GREAT job at balancing flavors.
Now all I can do is hope they give me that EXACT same dish everytime.
**THEY DID NOT SKIMP ON THE RICE OR THE MEAT AT ALL. NICE SIZED PORTIONS REASONABLY PRICED. FOOD WAS SERVED HOT & IN A TIMELY MANNER.

Let me tell you something these oxtails and everything on my plate was so good. I am soooooo happy i found this spot. I ordered on door dash and when i tell you everything was handled with care and nothing was wrong and everything tasted so good. If you haven’t been here or ordered here please do, the best oxtails I have had in a long time. Even my toddler loved it wasn’t to spicy it was just right. Thank youuuuu will order AGAIN!!!

I loved this spot! I’m always searching for new jamacian/ carribean spots and Straight Jamdown is definitely on the list now. I got Curry Goat (lg) and it was really good. The portion was big, and like it should it came with rice n peas, cabbage and plantains. I order extra plantains because I’m used to only get 2 or 3 slices but they give a lot so I didn’t even need them. The coco bread was fresh and delicious and the service was great. I don’t want to butcher the spelling of her name but Kaneisha, was very welcoming and I didn’t wait at all. I think the price was just right for this meal. I do like my curry goat more spicy but I’m not complaining at all it was full of flavor, tender and not all bones. I’ll definitely go back and try more. My son is 1 and he loooves Jamacian food❤

The chef is amazing the way he blends spices and prepares the food. Omg I love this place. Best Jamaican food ever. It’s out Brooklyn and I live 45 minutes away but it is well worth the drive. I plan to visit Straight Jamdown Island Cuisine again and again. This guy loves to cook. I love Straight Jamdown Idland Cuisine.

Way over priced! Ordered a large portion of Oxtail for over $18 and got a package with 50% rice, 25% cabbage and plantains, and 25% oxtail (7 or 8 regular size pieces). A side order of Jerk Chicken was good though. Nevertheless, I won’t be eating here again. Plan to stick with Sweet Home where the prices are cheaper, portions are bigger, and taste is better!

This is one of the best moments in life. The food was so damn good. The best jerk chicken and best oxtail in town. We used to UberEat their food a lot. We really miss it we will never gonna be able to find another one like this.

One of the best meals I’ve had.
1) The prices, especially for these days, are pretty dang reasonable.
2)Portions – Im gonna be eating this for at least two days and im okay with that lol. Also…I dont wanna hear people complain about the ratio of rice (Which with the sauce/oil you get, is glorious) to meat….thats how food is. You eat a bit of meat with the rice. Its literally how broke people have been eating since the beginning of time. If you want more meat…..pay for more meat. Otherwise, the ratio of meat to rice is appropriate for the price.
3)Taste – I dont have proper words to explain how it all taste because it was all just…lovely. You could taste each bit alone and its WONDERFUL but you could also mix them together and create a harmony of flavors. Also, the pineapple/ginger drink was refreshing as all get out. A real lovely palette cleanser.
I know this is a lot for a review but if you have a good eating experience…say so, in detail, so others will follow suit <3
